Well Horrid Henry was a bit strong for my taste. I was just saying heavier in reference to the first vid you showed me. But some of my songs off the top of my head you might know are, sunlight hurts my eyes, bass cannon, feel so close, turn me on, optimus prime. And then I guess I would say Excision is about as heavy (sorry if im saying it wrong wobbles) I go. But yeah those are some really general ones.

That's fine man, we probably just have different tastes. I just felt like his new setup was pretty neat so I posted it. I'm not telling anyone to go see him or anything, just showing the stage.

that explains everything, i'm guessing either you're quite new to the genre and havent done much (if any) research into the history and roots OR you have done the research but you have crap speakers and as a result have totally missed the point

ugh, that's fucking awful, it was just noise on top of some badly programmed drums

if you want heavy stuff buy a decent sub and then listen to Distance

Well "not my speed" is term of use, "slow your horses" wouldn't imply you to actually do so. I was just saying It's not my preferred style.
As far as history goes, I feel like I know the basics, I have been listening since Jack Beats was something to chill to, and my system is pretty legit, so you probably just judged me off my posts instead ha.

But enlighten me on the history part (something that isn't on wiki), besides saying it all started in London.

jack beats aint dubstep mate

dubstep started in croydon at big apple records and was pioneered by guys such as el-b, horsepower productions/benny ill, zed bias and artwork when it was still just a dark offshoot of 2step/garage then you get skream, benga, mala, coki & loefah etc who also get into it through the big apple connection but who bring a wider range of influences and you start to see the evolution of halfstep (the standard dubstep beats) pirate radio (RinseFM) and clubnights (fwd & DMZ) acted as focal points for the small thriving scene to develop and it grew and grew

fast forward 2011 and the word dubstep has somehow become inextricably linked with the name skrillex and innovation and experimentalism have been replaced by copycat noise

that is basically a rough history of dubstep... yes i am missing huge chunks out but i didnt want to spend hours at work trying to describe something that can easily be found with a bit of time and patience to someone who i dont even know

Shut up mate its a forum, he can post what he likes! Good work bellend!

Thanks OG poster, I'd heard about this but not seen anything (some of us are interested!) The vid's look like a cheap version of what Dead mousey man does but cheaper but its no surprise that Skrill has a show like this now.. I'm not sure why this place still gets so bother by him, he's not Dubstep anymore!

My mates promoting that first Andy C show, even he doesnt know what the show is gonna be like, no one will say but its the way to go these days init, live shows over just DJ'ing! These days you cant just be a DJ! Plus producing doesnt pay so this is the new way for manz to get paid!

And mate (OG poster) Dubstep is to each of us something different... Sadly some of the "geeks" on here like to preach "history" like those dudes who stand on street corners holding a bible... Yes this music has history spanning far back to before 2000, yes its nice to have an understanding but every time I listen to a bob marley track I dont need to know the ins and outs of the history of reggae just to appreciate a tune... Allow the preachers, it makes them feel special in their own special way lol :H: But put it like this, in other topics that kind of behaviour would be racist! You dont like what I like, FUCK YOU is the best way to promote the music you love lol

Because endless people start endless thread and make endless google keyword for it on DUBSTEP forum, therefor, everytime people type 'dubstep' into google, thats what they get.

Google doesnt know your joking, it just knows you mentioned his name.
