How can I see the wave of a whole track like on soundcloud?
When you upload to soundcloud you get to see all the dynamics and changes and see where its muddy and what not. I find its really useful to see changes/corrections and actually SEE where its happening.
How can I do this without actually repeatedly uploading to soundcloud?
Im using Ableton Live 8.2. Not sure if there is a way built into the DAW or maybe some kind of program or something you can do to see this?

Re: How can I see the wave of a whole track like on soundcl
Export the track as audio. Reimport the audio track back in.
Re: How can I see the wave of a whole track like on soundcl
thats def easier, thanks wub, I just thought there might be a simpler way to do it in realtime as you make changes
Re: How can I see the wave of a whole track like on soundcl
oscilloscope plugin if you want to see it in real time

Why do you seem so concerned with soundcloud waveformsdalvare1 wrote:When you upload to soundcloud you get to see all the dynamics and changes and see where its muddy and what not. I find its really useful to see changes/corrections and actually SEE where its happening.

maybe im not describing it right, idk just like being able to see where the volume changes are. I always seem to have trouble with getting levels down to the right place for buildups/drops. And I feel like it would help me learn to be able to see what I was doin ya kno? Im obviously trying to develop the ability to do it all by ear, but im just not there yet and I think this would help, being able to see how changes x,y,z parameters in the track changes the overall dynamics of it.
Re: How can I see the wave of a whole track like on soundcl
Im not sure, but Im assuming other DAWs would come with a visual representation of the dynamics in some way/shape/form? In FLStudio, when we need to examine something dynamically, we can put a 'fruity limiter' on the track and it has a display that shows whats happening dynamically...dalvare1 wrote:maybe im not describing it right, idk just like being able to see where the volume changes are. Like this... See, if you turned the 'ceiling/threshold' knob clear to full it wouldnt be limiting or compressing your signal, just showing you a dynamics display... Ableton doesnt have anything like this?
