I still watch Clerks quite a bit. I did some similar jobs with similar people a few years ago (who hasn't), and every day I was reminded of Clerks. Pretty disappointed with Kevin Smith's output these days though, hoping he'll return to the View Askewniverse sometime.Hypefiend wrote:CLERKS. all im going to say. go see it.
On that note:
Nice little weird black comedy film from some of Kevin Smith's friends/Clerks cast not many people saw

What a perfect movie.
Re: Favourite Films That Not Many People Have Heard Of
^ I still rate gummo as a scifi masterpiece. Desolate post-apocalyptic future of humanity type thing.
This is probably Ben Stiller's best acting job:
Permanent Midnight. A drama/comedy where he plays Jerry Stahl, the heroin/crack/anything addict who used to write for shitcoms in the 80s like ALF. He did a really good job playing this role, very convincing stuff and a good film. Plus Elizabeth Hurley.
One of the memorable scenes

Sci-fi is an interesting way too look at it. Def has a post apocolyptic vibe to it, where only the dumb survive

Yeah, that's the vibe I always got. This is an interesting interview where Werner Herzog also calls it scifi, reaffirmed my feelings on it: http://www.harmony-korine.com/paper/int/hk/whammo.htmlRandom Eyez wrote:Sci-fi is an interesting way too look at it. Re: Favourite Films That Not Many People Have Heard Of
Friend of mine recommended Dead End yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised. She made it seem like it was a horrible-but-funny horror movie, but it was actually pretty decent. Reminded me of the X-Files mixed with The Twilight Zone with some Harold and Kumar thrown in. I think it was somewhat obscure, but did win a few independent awards.
