Fl Studio Peaking
Hello,
For those of you that use FL studio, what is the best way to stop it from peaking? I already blew out a new pair of headphones by accident and I cant find any good video tutorials.
Thanks so much!

Re: Fl Studio Peaking
What's peaking - the volume or the CPU usage?
Re: Fl Studio Peaking
u could set a limiter on the master fader with zero threshold and ceiling at 0 so it won't let the signal go above 0 db… but ur better off just turning everything down so nothing peaks. Nad a limiter on the master fader won't help if when previewing samples in the browser.
(assuming volume peaking btw)

Yes it will? Those go through the master track too, even when just previews.mitchAUS wrote: Nad a limiter on the master fader won't help if when previewing samples in the browser.

my bad, i assumed it was the same as ableton, where previews get played direct…. probably shouldn't comment on a program i havnt used in 2+ yearsTeknicyde wrote:Yes it will? Thanks for the quick response. Ill try turning the volume down when I get home.

If you have something on the master, it even effects the metronome and that little blip FL makes when you open itmitchAUS wrote:my bad, i assumed it was the same as ableton, where previews get played direct…. probably shouldn't comment on a program i havnt used in 2+ yearsTeknicyde wrote:Yes it will? haha that seems a little odd, FL has always done its own thing in some regards! but at the same time that does seem practical though as when u drop the sample in a track it will inevitably go through the master channel.Teknicyde wrote:If you have something on the master, it even effects the metronome and that little blip FL makes when you open itmitchAUS wrote:my bad, i assumed it was the same as ableton, where previews get played direct…. probably shouldn't comment on a program i havnt used in 2+ yearsTeknicyde wrote:Yes it will? So OP definitely turn ur levels down, but a limiter on the master that is doing nothing but protecting ur speakers if u get a way ward signal +0db can't hurt. Just keep checking the limiter as u set ur elves and make sure its not engaging. Most of us on the forum who have been producing for a while don't have our master fader peaking higher then -3 db when we are writing tunes. Its best to keep well clear of the red
