Fella Draft- Dubstep-Vocals(WIP)
Soundcloud
Something ive been working on for a day or two now, i kinda like hows it is coming along, only my second track been using ableton under a month maybe just around a month.
Wanted some feedback from other producers rather then just friends and family, they dont really help with improvements.

Really feeling the intro!
Can't say the same about where the drop starts & beyond...
I understand you want to make dubstep, but dubstep isn't all about "filthy" wobblez
Production needs a little work, but the more you produce, the more of an ear you'll get for it.
Great intro again man! Looking forward to more in the future. Cheers

That tune in your sig is sick.
Re: Fella Draft- Dubstep-Vocals(WIP)
, ..... you have the basic idea down well already , you just need to keep making beats and practicing.
the vocals are out of key with the track
when the main part drops the drums get all chaotic and you cant follow whats going on,
...i think those bongos near the end need to go they aren't helping the rythm much and are intruding on the rest of the track.

everything sounds a little airy. You need some more punch to your sounds, and the bass hits some off notes that arent in any key and just sound weird. Thats my 2 cents. Keep it up though.
...wanna collab? Im down for new sounds, send me a PM please.

Also, I'd lose the panning on the main wobble. Panning can be very useful, but too much is distracting. Get things in key and the other suggestions above me sorted out and you should have a decent track going.
One more thing: Starting out, stick with the basics. Get your ideas and sound down before you start turning knobs and experimenting. Remember that you're making music, not just producing. I have to continually remind myself of this, especially being new to (producing) the genre. But yeah, enough of the old man speech. Keep it up.

How ever else will i learn what those knobs do, if i don't turn a few
Re: Fella Draft- Dubstep-Vocals(WIP)
Don't get me wrong. Turning knobs and making noise is half the fun. What I'm getting at is that, if you're anything like me, you can start playing around and before you realize it an hour or two has gone by with very little to show for it. These days, I at least try to get a few bars or presets down before I space out.WithinReason wrote:How ever else will i learn what those knobs do, if i don't turn a few

Re: Fella Draft- Dubstep-Vocals(WIP)
At the moment the element seem to be off doing their own thing. The rapping and singing seem totally alien to each other don't get me wrong I love having very contrasting elements in music that what keeps me interested but you somehow gotta have the various elements engage in a kinda communication echoing each other in some way. I like the timbre of the bass sound and at times it works well but as said before there is too much panning on the bass perhaps split the signal so on the very top frequencies of the wobble pan keep the mid elements of the bass mono from say 3000htz down. There is problem with panning on an element of the percussion also, if you pan an object one side I'd recommend panning a similar sound the other side by the same amount though keep it subtle especially if your music is intended for playing in clubs as you will lose the impact otherways.
