i think the people that hate skrillex's tunes spend just as much time thinking about him as the people that actually do like them. this is why he's famous, all love or all hate.

anyways, skrillex is a damn good producer. sure, some of his songs just don't sound good. but overall, they're extremely complex, well produced, and well organized.

so, yeah, he's not the greatest, or the current "best" producer... but he's very, very far from the worst. he's not "destroying dubstep," i think it's just the fact that people around here don't want to be associated with the majority of his fan base.

not sure if this would be the place for it but yo it isn't even all about the filth noises. Americans by and large, just care about the snare. Halfstep in EDM was like a "wow!" moment for most USA listeners i know. It could be trancy, electro wobble filth, dnb, dub, or even hard house style stuff that gets all its sub freq out of the kick drum .. fuck, it can be basically 70 bpm hip hop incarnations which are currently making the rounds (i.e. JayZ n Kanye's "nice watch") .. if you use a hard hitting snare on 3, average american non-dubstep-fan punter will jizz their pants
