Triplet Delay Effect?
For lack of a better term, i titled this post as such. I can't seem to figure out how to create this effect on synths, it sounds to me like some sort of delay or arpeggiation effect that works in triplets. I hear it frequently in some of Mimosa's tracks and other similar artists, and I would like to use it (I use Ableton and FL9). Here's an example:

The effect I'm talking about is the synth at the beginning of the song. It would be much appreciated if someone with the knowledge of this effect could provide insight for how to create it.

Re: Triplet Delay Effect?
It's what's called a "Gate". Just assign whatever you're using to a mixer track, put a Gross Beat on it, then use the Techno Gate (or w/e it's called, just look through the presets), and there ya go. The Gross Beat won't activate until you press play, so just press play and see how each preset sounds.
Re: Triplet Delay Effect?
Ah. So would this be in essence sidechaining?
Re: Triplet Delay Effect?
no. Its called a trance gate.
here's a free one. gross beat costs extra money:

Re: Triplet Delay Effect?
I'll check it out. Thanks for the help, I noticed gating in Ableton a while ago but always thought it was just kind of another type of compressor/limiter
Re: Triplet Delay Effect?
thats most likely a different type of gating in which you are correct in saying that it works in a similar way to a compressor or limiter...but its not the same thing as a trance gate.Ashta wrote:I'll check it out.
