is this Brixton Electric thing Get Loaded? saw that those Get loaded in the dark/ park people were doing a weekly friday night ting in brixton now
It must be. But only people that havent been there say it though!! Even Brixton Jamm, which isnt in the greatest part of town and looks like some barn isnt even that bad!
Yeah thats the one mate. Thought it was worth a go. They have Foamo, Dan Le Sac, Duffstep and Eddie Temple Morris playing. Its cheap entry and cheap drinks tonight. Im kinda skint and is pretty local, so thought we might aswell give it a go.

Yeah, agreed... tbh, Brixton is pretty fucking pleasant anyway these days, I'm sure you can find trouble if you want it, but it's got a LOT more middle class than when I first used to be down there. I feel safer walking back from Mass in the early hours than I do walking back from places on Commercial Rd these days.
I was having a chat with my weed guy about Mass a couple of months ago and cracked up when he said something like "Yeah, I love Brixton... they've got this wicked little cafe... amazing humous"

Mate of mine got offered crack down Coldharbour Lane a few years back When he said no, the dealer offered to 'throw in' a go on a rather spaced out looking 15yr old in a mini skirt. He declined.

Lovely. The last time I remember a mate trying to score around there he managed to get sold a lump of
wood... served him right for not checking it before handing over the cash, tbh...

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Mate of mine got skanked once by a tramp outside Opera House in Bournemouth. Came out there at 3am, rushing his nuts off. Homeless guy asked him for spare change, he said no but did he know anywhere to score some weed. Homeless guy pulls a lump of wrapped solid out his pocket and says he can have it for a tenner. Mate pays him, comes home all pleased with himself. Unwraps the clingfilm to find he's been sold a lump of soil.
Same mate also purchased dried geranium leaves a year or so later off a dealer in London, so he's clearly not the sharpest when he's wasted.

my step father is a state-prosecutor.
He had to deal with some poor rasta that was kept in a cell for a week while he awaited his trial for possession of lavender.
WTF!!!

I once got pinched for pills at Glastonbury... spent a couple of hours in the temporary cells at Shepton Mallet before they let me back into the festival. Everyone with drugs was getting a caution and bussed back in (even a dude with several ounces, empty baggies and *scales*) - the only guy they were seriously trying to prosecute had been selling dud pills - they were going to do him for fraudulent selling!

After me saying to my mate that people always want to go to the new, random places, that he wants to try and he should give it a go and that Brixton really isnt that bad, he replied:-
Im always up for new places mate. (read:- aslong as he has chosen them) just brixton doesnt appeal to me that much. been on a work night there once and it was boring and no vibe. (read:- not full of celebrities/celeb wannabes). Would happily try somewhere else you suggest.
He then sent another text after saying:-
I dont wanna seem all spoilt and shitty cos more than happy to go out and i love a rave (note:- he sacked off my birthday at Counter Culture on the night, after being in the pub together before, because somebody forgot their ID and he said he would go with them to get it then come later.............they never did).

Yeah, Brixton has no vibe whatsoever. It's not been the epicentre of British black and rave culture for the entirety of my life or anything.
I'd suggest that him not coming would probably make your night better.

He'd prefer a bar that charges 10quid for a beer (aslong as somebody else was paying) with some Z lister from Take Me Out/Shit reality TV show frequenting the VIP section.
