I'm specifically interested in what some people may consider to be "brostep" and drum 'n bass techniques. I've been playing guitar for eight years and have written a number of songs, so I'm not looking for any sort of songwriting or theory lesson(although I don't know any theory. I'm entirely self-taught). I'd like to learn things like synthesis, how to make my own drum sounds and give them groove, etc. Basically just how to achieve the high-quality production values heard from modern producers such as Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, etc.
Obviously since I'll be paying, I would like to know a bit about you before I commit. I'd like to hear an example of your work if at all possible, as well as get an idea of your teaching experience. I can pay via PayPal; and I'm able to take lessons using AIM, Skype, MSN Messager, or even Facebook chat.
I use Logic Pro 9 as my DAW of choice. I also have NI Massive and FM 8. It would be perfect if I could learn from a fellow Logic user, but if you don't use Logic, yet you feel confident enough that you could still teach me what I need to know(and then I'd be able to apply what I learned to Logic), then that's great as long as I can be convinced. Feel free to reply to this thread, send me a private message, or drop me an email at stinkymongoose@msn.com. Sorry about the email; I've had it since fifth grade and was always too lazy to change it.
Thanks in advance, and please try to keep any sort of "THAT'S NOT REAL DUBSTEP" etc. comments to yourselves; as you can't tell me anything I haven't already heard a thousand times over.
*EDIT* - When I say I'm specifically interested in learning dubstep techniques, that doesn't mean I don't want to learn everything there is to know. I want someone to start at square one with me and cover everything. I simply meant that dubstep is where my heart lies for the ultimate endgame of learning.
