Yep def...as that negatron scottish guy kept saying on TV, the ABs havn't had any tough games yet..where all the other tier 1 teams have. Really hope it doesn't kick us in the ass when we do play a team like south africa.budsteq wrote:we still need to step our game up for the real competition imo.kentnz wrote:Annihilated Canada. Shame about the Warriors though
Also... colin slade, honestly how did that guy make the world cup squad ? hes had two starts so far and both have been horrible..he doesn't seem to care or have the passion.
On the topic of the warriors..they had lost that game in the first 15 mins, Hardly followed them this year and last night just reminded me why
Re: RWC
gotta disagree with that. first half hour or so was some of the most solid, hard fought, back to basics and evenly matched footy i've seen in a while. lots of completed sets, good runs and metres gained and some thumping D. i think it took a while (toward end of first half) for manly's superiority to shine through. after that they were clinical and the warriors were never going to catch up.Morike wrote:On the topic of the warriors..they had lost that game in the first 15 mins, Hardly followed them this year and last night just reminded me why
as for the rugby, i hope slade will start at 1st five from now. i think he has the skill but has lacked temperament and some decision making under pressure has been poor. hardly the time to experiment but i've got a feeling some faith in him will come off. i'd like to see weepu starting halfback, then moving out to 1st 5 in the second half for impact - he's got a good record of making his mark on a game in the last 30. cowan or ellis off the bench - doesn't matter to me really

Re: RWC
I'm picking aussie to win by 5 and the Ab's to win by 18.
If the aussie backline are firing they'll be a real threat with beale and Ioane back. If the boks are prepared to hold on to the ball and throw it around they should be good. but I don't see that happening. Without Francois to kick those 60m penalties I think they'll struggle for points.
The two games yesterday were amazing. I'm glad we didn't have to play the french last night. Go wales!

Anyway on a rugby tip the Aussie/RSA game showed exactly why England have been so "good" at knockout rugby the last two RWCs. And as it stands, the NZ/Argentina game is doing the same. For all the talk of southern hemisphere skills and flair if you're only going to put a smattering of points of the board you're always at risk.
Still though, a Wales/NZ final would be mind blowing, I can only imagine the atmosphere in the stadium if that happens.
