swap "Burial" for "Thom Yorke" and vice versa throughout his post, it makes senseEplo wrote:am i the only one that doesnt understand this?joeki wrote:hey man, thom yorke has to make a living too! I mean Burial does tons of live acts, releases three records every year and allows his tunes to be remixed by pretty much anyone. He does all this appearances at shows for a lot of money as well. In short : Burial doesn't need the money. But Yorke is such an unpretentious artists that only released about 4 records in his carreer and never performed live, so he doesn't have the money so yeah I think he deserves it....
that's why the record costs 25 quid.
Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??

Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
If one replaces "Burial" with "Robert Del Naja" and "Thom Yorke" with "Burial" it sort of makes sense.
Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
a weak attempt at irony and sarcasm I suppose. I'm not the biggest Yorke fan (MA did have its moments though). I do think it factors into the equasion..and yeah it's a "fancy" label and a limited pressing. I'm all for vinyl but making it a niche collectors market with outrageous prices...I don't see how this helps.
On the plus, 180 gram vinyl is nice and heavy and I don't see these tunes popping up in your average club mix setting (so it doesn't matter that they're heavy slabs hard for mixing). And 180's can take a little punch.
I don't think time equals into the equasion like someone said: yes they're lengthy tuns but most full length LP's go at half the price (for multiple slabs)
MILKING IT. But actually, if folks are willing to pay for it...who can blame them. I grant Burial some financial gain out of this, his productions have given me a lot...Yorke is another matter.

Just to be clear, you do know Thom Yorke has nothing to do with Massive Attack?joeki wrote:a weak attempt at irony and sarcasm I suppose. Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
Yeah I'm kinda confused, how did Thom Yorke come into this?
Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
i think he might be sayin that since thom york has now done some songs with burial that burial has got more fame and that anything with burial in the title will cost more because of hype which i dont agree with. But he might not be saying that but i agree that at the moment thom york is going through a mid life crisis and thinks he a dj but all the same i couldnt care
Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
Anyone listened to it yet?

Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
I understand that Burial needs money and all, but in that case just don´t release this as a limited edition..
Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
Probably because it's one of these 'Vinyl Factory Editions', screen printed, glitter sleeve, 'limited edition' etc.Eplo wrote:why is 25 quid?
i'v never known the price of records to be decided by hype or how good it is.
Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??

When I mentioned the length of the tracks, that was a comment to Ketamine with regards to their tremendous breakdownjoeki wrote: I don't think time equals into the equasion like someone said: yes they're lengthy tuns but most full length LP's go at half the price (for multiple slabs)

Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
Youtube comment

"I'm back"Burial has the capacity of making me feel like "Its worth it", "that life is worth living". It's like his songs transmit an euphoria.. some sort of anesthetic feeling inside of me that keeps me tranquilized for a limited amount of time and when it ends im back to reality.. When i heard the cry as i call it at 10:15 it brought a tear to my eye.. that cry is like Burial saying " I'm back", "I've brought you peace". Thank you Burial for giving me that peace, and for changing my life with your music

Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
This tune isn't even that great. Sounds like hundreds of tracks before it. But, because it's Burial...
Re: Burial / Massive Attack Confirmed Release Date??
yeah, mix up in the second post between Radiohead/Massive Attack...got a little confused after facebook ranting and comparing this with the previous twelves and coming to the same conclusion. First post was no cock up though
