what shaver do you guys use?

Post by lyons238 » Tue Oct 11, 2011 10:18 pm

i don't grow too much facial hair but every time i shave with a normal fucking razor i break out the next day. yes i wash my face thoroughly before and after shaving. i think its the fact that a razor gets the hair so short it keeps my pores open allowing bacteria to get in? thats my theory anyway, but im really not sure what causes it.

anyways i tried my friends braun body cruzer which is like a nice wet/dry trimmer with very tiny teeth. it shaves close enough to leave like that five oclock shadow look, which is fine for me since i dont have very much facial hair, and i didnt break out the next day.

but what shaver can you guys recommend? sometimes i like to keep a small amount of hair on my chin too so i like the idea of it having a trimmer with attatchable heads as well. i was looking at the braun cruzer 6 face. but i heard foil shavers suck dick. any help?

so far iv been looking at the
braun bodycruzer
braun cruzer face
norelco bodygroom

but i cant decide on which one. my budget is $50.

LOL yes i did just make a topic on razors on DSF so i can make cutting edge beats while looking fresh.

Panasonic ES8249S

but the Remington F5790 works really well and is in your price range. the long hair trimmer slide out at the back cuts your beard to "not a beard but not stubble" length, it's quite handy.

Electric razors are the worst. Gilette fusion or nothing at all. I have a decent remington, but it just doesn't give you any sort of close shave

i was also looking at a panasonic with a pop out trimmer.

that remington looks nice though. i just wish i could find a floating foil blade razor with a pop up trimmer that can be used with attatchments for trimming up a goatee and what have you.

im not looking for an ultra close shave. im actually looking for something thats going to leave me with a tiny bit of stubble. the whole reason i think im breaking out with normal razors is because they give such a close shave.

You'll never look back :4:

It doesn't show you in the pictures but there's a dial on the back you can turn that clicks the length of the comb guide up or down in 0.5mm increments from 0.5 - 15mm, or you can take it off for ultra close stuff or shaping/definition. I've maintained epic facial hair since i got it, that whole 'ordered roughage' vibe. My girl loves it :6:

I'd steer clear of Babyliss for Men. So many garbage products. I got an iStubble last Christmas that was so uneven when trimming I had to have a regular shave afterwards.

That Braun Cruzer is probably the best bet if you have only got bumfluff. Plus its an all round trimmer

yeah thats what i was thinking. i just heard the foil on it sucks. in that case would it be better to just get the braun body cruzer and just use the trimmer on my face?

Man you must have got some shitty defunct shit. I can personally vouch for the quality of that trimmer. If you had to have a 'regular shave' after then you're not understanding what the product is for. It's not a shaver. Its a groomer, you're supposed to use it to shape and maintain your stubble. If you want a complete cut you shouldn't use this.

As the op said

This sounds like exactly what he needs.

yeah it would work for that. i need something that can shave down to a small stubble as well. like down to the 5 oclock shadow look. im thinking the braun cruzer is going to fit my needs best, i just hope the foil blade doesnt suck balls. and also id like to be able to do some manscaping with whatever i chose as well. and for those who think thats gross i really dont care. im going to do it after i shower so it wont make a difference, hair is hair.

Yeah I know what its supposed to do. I think the 'iStubble' bit gave it away. Wanted the stubble look and it was patchy and uneven hence shaving afterwards.

Both Babyliss for Men and Braun products are hit and miss though. Same with all brand shavers/trimmers really. Just have to take the plunge and hope for the best, especially at a low price point.
