Halp me make that sound!:D (NOT SKRILLEX)
As you all know you've seen 9354535 'How to make that Skrillex bass' thread. Well this isn't one of them. This is a thread to help me make that kind of bass Excision uses. His bass isn't quite like Skrillex's it's more 'electronic' simply put. If you need an example here:

he came here to be helped. not to look for someone to be a prick to him. it's not his fault he hasn't been producing as long as you to know all the ins and outs or replicating someone's bass lines. Show some respect for other aspiring producers.narcissus wrote:oh my god. lol. there's a "Help me make this sound" thread

Re: Halp me make that sound!:D (NOT SKRILLEX)
Real easy to make. Reese, set to a very low octave. Add a light chorus, lots of distortion (better to use several plugins each with a subtle effect than just one with a strong effect) and some sort of metallic sound (I like to use KarmaFX Reverb set to the metal box algorithm, with the time turned very low) then add a filter and modulate the cutoff. After this add an EQ and tweak it so the low end is very prominent.

maybe you should wait more than 2 days after joining, and make more than 10 posts, before telling others how to behave in the forum they lurk daily.

so true though. DSF google thread should be a mandatory read. I ghosted this forum for a solid 12 months before signing up and posting anything. This forum works on mutual respect. People aren't going to spoon feed information that can be found in 100 other threads

Excision uses a lot of gritty wave forms. Lot of crude sounds. Probably needle sub-basses for a loud jagged sub. Lots of tough filters like Comb filters and Scream filters. Most of what I can take from Excision basses. Though some Excision basses lack proper vibe. I prefer a bit more metallicy type of basses, those used by the likes of Datsik and Zeds Dead.

Skrillex, Borgore, heavily processed bass : explained! - http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=192504
It contains links to a number of discussions re; the heavy bass processing sound, including Excision. A couple of the thread titles are duplicated in the Skrillex thread, but the ones that specifically reference other artists should be of us to you.

There are literally a shitload of threads about Excision, there is even an old one where he comes in and gives a few bits of info away himself. Just do a search and you shall find. FYI: be prepared to get into DnB style resampling
Re: Halp me make that sound!:D (NOT SKRILLEX)
I've actually gotten pretty close to this (pre resampling). In massive, I used 2 osc with the kangaroo waveform. I also changed each one from spectrum to one of the bends (each osc was on a different type of bend). Detune and play with the wavetable positions and you can get pretty close. Then resample like crazy.
