Gah, can't get back in. There's so many people trying to get into the kettle that there's talk of kettling the police!

I need to get food and maybe sleep, but this has been great. Peaceful, strong, dignified and happy. Assange spoke and people took the piss in a truly British manner (whilst respectfully still letting the human megaphone work) "Feed us JEEEESSUUSS"! False prophets do not seem to be order of the day... the voting system actually seems to work, too.

I hope the rest of them have more staying power than I do after a night raving. :Q:

came by for a few hours, shot some good ones on my camera, will upload when they're developed.

glad to see what has been a peaceful and respectful protest thus far, though when i left the coppers were moving in rapidly blaming "damage to the monument" (of which there was none). good luck to the organizers to keep everyone calm, focused and seated; have a feeling the night will take its toll on the number of steadfast protesters though.

The police were pretty aggressive not letting people out when I was trying to wander off... tried to get out of several exits before some dude dressed as Jesus started preaching to a bunch of them about money-lenders and they didn't notice me skip through. Seems like they started letting more people out in the end... I hope there's enough people in it for the long haul to make it tough to shift them. I can't see police getting too rowdy on the steps of St Pauls, but who knows... they were packing some big sticks and looking up for it. Such a change from when it was actual violent rioters on the streets. Old people, kids and do-gooders? FIGHT! Kids with petrol bombs? RUN AWAAAAY!

Kay got away just in time... getting kettled to fuck. I'm on a fucking comedown and I have no food or water. Luckily, we're kettled with an open Marks & Spencer. This isn't just protesting...
Yeah we saw the police starting to move people around when we were heading back to the tube and thought "Wow we timed that well!"

Word is the vicar of St Pauls has asked the police to leave and let the occupation stay. Now is not the time for finding our differences, now is the time for coming together for what we have in common. 99% of us are "all in it together".

You can't reasonably expect those sworn to protect us to put themselves in actual danger now!

It's really friendly down there now. Portaloos and about 30 tents have turned up overnight (I'm not sure if they planned it, but there's a branch of Blacks right outside St Pauls!), police are milling around looking comfortable and chatting happily, Queen Victoria's holding some very progressive slogans and I sat and listened to a bloke preach the entire Sermon on the Mount from memory whilst sat on the steps this afternoon... truly bizarre yet beautiful. Everyone's coming together to discuss a problem from their own angles and then having a conversation about it... this is brilliant.

Haha, I saw that today. I took a picture of a policeman standing under it just as he realised why he was getting his photo taken... kinda cracked me up:

Innit!

Magma, how did you get the picture so big? I've got a funny one of Greek views on social inequality but DSF won't let me upload anything over 1000 pixels?

I have no idea... it's just linked from Facebook. I think I might need to change some settings on my iPhone, definitely don't need to be snapping them that big!

Should be down for at least an hour or so after work today to check if any supplies are needed and see what's being said by the General Assembly/police. If anyone's down, gimme a shout and we can do the awkward "Hi, I'm Magm... I mean, Simon" thing.
