FL Studio Stretching

So I wish to start doing remixes in FL Studio, so I've started messing around a bit here and there..

I have one question though, after I load a sample into FL (A song I wish to remix) And open up the Channel Settings for it and set the time to match my Project Tempo and everything, how can I make it so that it doesn't go into "Stretching" Every time I open the project up to work on it again? Do I have to bounce out the stretched sample and import it back in, in order for it to not have to restretch it every time I open up the project?

I hope this makes sense..

Also, what is the best way to take a song, and match it up with the projects tempo? I've sorta figured it out, but it was kind of on accident and confusing..

Any little tips you guys have for remixing would also be welcome.. I feel that remixing other songs would help with my own production, plus it seems fun

What I do for time stretching is usually drop the song into the playlist first, then click the audio symbol in the upper left corner of the audio clip, the third category down is listed as 'Sample', click "Detect tempo". After it gives you the tempo of the song you're trying to remix drop it into Edison and take out a calculator. If the song you're trying to remix is SLOWER than the tempo you want to work with, you divide the song's tempo by the tempo that you WANT to work with and using Edison's time stretch you manipulate the time to match the number from the calculator as best as you can. Make sure to hold Ctrl while you do this so you can fine tune it nearest as possible.
Same thing works vice verse, if the song you're remixing is FASTER and you need to slow it down, divide the tempo you WANT by the tempo it's already set at and time stretch, drop into playlist. Match it up the way you want with the slip tool and BAM!

I actually use stretch to make my remix peices. Here's my approach: I get my remix target and cut it at the first measure and delete the rest. Then I turn on stretch mode and zoom in 100% or put the snap on none. Then I stretch my 1 measure to fit 1 measure of the new song. Make sure to open the sample settings and put it on something besides resample, or your pitch gets lost in the stretching, (which one I pick depends on the type of sounds, for a song I use pro default.) then I turn off stretch mode and drag the clip out to 4 measures, I turn stretch mode back on and make the target songs 4 measures fit my songs 4 measures. Then repeat at 8 and 16 and 32, by this time it's usually dead on.

And when I finish, yes, I click 'make unique as sample'

Your talking about when your opening the project file and you have to wait for it when it says stretching right? The. Yeah you would just have to record a new copy of it al it just opens it instead. Is your comp that slow though? Usually only takes me 20 seconds a the most to open my biggest projects
