Why not ask her? You can find out if the number is fake pretty easily. Someone giving you their number doesn't mean they want your children though, so I wouldn't read too much into it without many more signs. Even so I would hope you respect their relationship, but yeah I'm pretty idealistic I guess. If you did call (not sure if you were being hypothetical) then there could be many reasons including not wanting her guy to get suspicious, which means she probably likes him. Or yeah could just be fake. At least it wasn't one of those "rejection hot line" numbers lol.
