Sheffield Scene!

Just moved to sheffield for uni. Looking for nights... is it really as shit as i think it is?? Or am i not looking in the right place... any guidance towards decent nights/clubs would be much appreciated, as everyone i've met so far is all about FRESHERS!! , at which every night I've seen advertised is a big pile of crap. Looking for like-minded people and: dubstep (not filthy screechy crap)/dub/dnb/jungle/reggae/garage/free parties etc.

I know this sounds stupid but facebook. A lot of promoters heavily promote on facebook with weekly events. I'm in my 2nd year at Manchester uni and i now get invites almost daily to events. Its especially useful if you haven't found many people with a similar taste in music because you won't have that word of mouth aspect.

Yeh mate it's cool now. I've always used facebook to find events, but being new here didn't know any names of events or any people involved to search for them. Found a few decent looking nights now

nah i doubt it. dont think i can afford to leave sheff for a while now. Losing a whole weekends working time is a blag this year too. too easy to fall behind. luckily there is a fair bit of great stuff coming to sheff in the next two months.

I run a night/show with mates in Sheffield called "Standard Procedure Sessions" - We stream our night's via Ustream, it's pretty hard to push the music we play round Sheffield as there are a lot of heads that do not know.

Basically add us this on facebook to get updates on all the good night's in Sheffield as it does have a pretty good scene it's just difficult to find as you have to sift through all the shit night's to find 'em.

Went to hessle but can't really remember any of it. I remember Pangaea being really good and then from after that it was just a blur of (good) noise.
