now we just need people to pay attention to who is funding what politician, their voting track record and background, and actually get out there and vote, be it a major party or third party option.

Generally not surprising except for Barclays PLC at the top...?

Anyway, it's good someone's done an objective analysis for people to see

Good read, thanks.
One thing won't chime with some of the protesters' claims: the super-entity is unlikely to be the intentional result of a conspiracy to rule the world. "Such structures are common in nature," says Sugihara.
Yes.

A shorter visit to the camp today. It really is quite big down there now, though they've cleared off the main square, removed all the signs from Queen Vic's hands (she's now back to being part of the 1%) and fenced off a few access routes to the cathedral so tourists don't have to navigate through guy ropes to get inside... I can't believe how many old (borderling elderly, tbh) people are down there. Truly, they are tough as old boots... it was FREEZING last night. Respect due!

John Oliver is pretty spot on here... the protester's aren't normal, but that doesn't mean they're not doing exactly what we all should be doing if we'd not got jobs to go to and rents to pay, or in a lot of cases, if we just just gave a fuck.

Its sad how he became a mouthpiece for his employers propaganda, I really liked him when he was still independent in the UK, and I tolerated him during his time on the Bugle for the occasional laugh.

Greece is where my attention has been firmly affixed since 2008, and even during last weekends events its clearly evident that their collective efforts will remain ineffective without better direction and tact; it could remain independent, but when you muster the ability to create a bank run and chose to do it on the weekend--nullifying its intended purpose to target its share prices during in week trading--and get everyone arrested (illegal and oppressive, but expected at this point)in the process something is wrong. Very wrong.

I tried explaining and making the argument for free market capitalist model, by postulating that we have never had it in the US and began to prove it, potentially unraveling most of the ill=placed negative connotation associated to it after decades of indoctrination and propaganda; I then managed to lead my way into the values of de-centralizing the monetary system from the State and the crucial role secession from tyrannical unions (EU, US, Soviet Union) which beget these draconian and totalitarian empires until someone seriously began to fret about the idea that she 'wanted her town to remain to exist,' despite having lived in an area that was both discovered, inhabited and flourished before the inception of the US or original 13 colonies under British rule. Now I indulged her concerns and I thought she was referring to them leveling the town and all of its inhabitants, which is a valid concern given what we see on a daily basis, but I was perplexed to her response that she seriously thought that the town in question would not exist! Period, as though by some divine right the State has the ability to erase it from its geographical landscape, most echoed similar concerns, and I thought I was back in 2008.

And in all my years of watching this, I'm convinced Greece is perhaps the only nation that 'gets it,' I won't go into that but its something far more dire than getting into inane discussion about isms and ologies and the virtues of a benevolent leviathan/welfare State in front of the of the indebted and unemployed masses; what is even more difficult to accept is that even despite this insight and their course of actions (including deaths, yes plural!) they have not yet managed to prevent it from happening. I knew 2008 was when all conventions were pretty much thrown at the window, and Western Society regressed into something more Feudal that resembled the East as time passed, but that still manages to depress me somehow when one understand the true implications of its effects. I think its incredibly ominous that Greece, the inception of Western society, has been in at the center of this farce.

Apparently St Pauls have just caved and asked #OccupyLSX to move on... I'm going to head down after work and see what's happening or if there's work to be done.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a result of the movement identifying their first target yesterday... there were plans for a march from the camp to HMRC to demand Dave Hartnett's resignation starting to circulate on Twitter last night and getting a LOT of support. I imagine there's been some pressure to get rid of the camp whilst it's still just an eyesore and not an actual "threat" to anyone.

This is likely the last post I will make in this thread, but this should both summarize and support what I said above.

I tell you what, this does not surprise me in the slightest, Greek people really aren't happy about what's being forced on them...

Why aren't their politicians being indicted for this mess?

Shit's getting real at the cathedral, Giles Fraser has just resigned as chancellor of St Pauls because of how the church has treated the protesters over the last week. What an absolute fucking legend. Thankyou, Giles. (I hope your God rewards you appropriately)

Some people appear to be occupying Canary Wharf today, stood and watched as I was going in. Only a small number though. Would be fun to have a sit in protest here, there's not much that normally goes on, it's a bit of a wasteland normally.

Although, it's all private property around here so I don't suppose they would have much trouble moving people along.

Yeah, I think that's why they've held off. There's a sign in the St Pauls camp reading "Canary Wharf is Mordor"... tickles me everytime I see it!

Yeah, I've been thinking that every time I go down to St Pauls wearing my suit. Fuck it though... democracy! Go down and say hello... everyone I've spoken to so far has been totally fucking righteous (and some of the girls are deeeelightful!). 8)

in case anyone missed the recent situation in oakland:

an iraq war veteran was hit in the head by a "non-lethal" projectile thrown by police. as other demonstrators rushed back to assist him, police flashbanged the whole group surrounding the man. he remains in critical condition.
When riot gear-clad police moved in early Tuesday, they were pelted with rocks, bottles and utensils from people in the camp's kitchen area. They emptied the camp near city hall of people, and barricaded the plaza.

Protesters were taken away in plastic handcuffs, most of them arrested on suspicion of illegal lodging.

Demonstrators returned later in the day to march and retake the plaza. They were met by police officers in riot gear. Several small skirmishes broke out and officers cleared the area by firing tear gas.

The scene repeated itself several times just a few blocks away in front of the plaza.

Tensions would build as protesters edged ever closer to the police line and reach a breaking point with a demonstrator hurling a bottle or rock, prompting police to respond with another round of gas.

It seems that all the people outside One Canada Square were moved on sometime this morning - presumably by the fake police they have here - so I'm having lunch by myself.
