West London - Ealing
Hi,
Just moved to Ealing a month or so ago and wondering if any thing going on around here? Did a search and looks like a few years ago things happened at the Townhouse ( ? ) but looks like that place has seen better days. Anyone local? Be good to meet some new people.
Cheers
Eddie

used to live in chiswick (in between hammersmith and acton) i never really found anything in west london worth doing. Think React.FM used to/ still do broadcast from hammersmith though? i just used to go out in south and east. bit of a trek but so much more going on

Yeah seems a nice place to live but can't see too much going on. Looks like a few trips out east are on the cards then.

Re: West London - Ealing
I've lived in Ealing for more than a year and haven't been out here once, bar a few decent pubs. Shit all going on. Apparently Barracuda (or whatever it was called before that) used to have a dubstep night but it stopped just after I moved. Barracuda looks well shit though.
It's weird how little there is going on to be honest, seeing as there's a huge university in Ealing.
EDIT: Scratch that, there are some decent things that happen in the summer. Comedy festival, beer festival, blues festival. And the Moscow State Circus is coming up soon on Ealing Common too. And there a few really good restaurants. Santa Maria just past Ealing Green was named best Pizza in London by Time Out and Apparently Kiraku across the road from Ealing Common station is Heston Blumenthal's favourite Japanese restaurant or something. Just no nightlife is all...but as is said above, N7 and N207 are your friends.

Worth keeping an eye on Ginglik in Shepherds Bush for the odd good techno night in a cool space, but yeah... West isn't exactly club-central.

I did not know about that bus route
Re: West London - Ealing
Not far from Ealing myself (Osterley) and have a fair few mates that live in and around the Ealing area. A close friend of mine put on a few nights (Genesis) in the Broadway but It didn't last, generally because of venue owners there not liking/supporting dubstep, dnb or any other bass music genre in general.
Now having moved to the Euphoriom in Acton, I think Genesis has found a home in West London supporting a deeper sound. Currently putting on regular dnb nights but looking do regular dubstep nights in the near future with such artists as Kryptic Minds and Youngsta.
A shameless plug I know but I'm not aware of any other nights in that area supporting these sounds.
