I don't get how it works there with healthcare... what happens with A&E? Let's say a homeless person gets hit by a car, what happens then? Surely there are people which simply can't afford to pay?

They can't refuse to treat an emergency. There's "free healthcare" or at least cheap as shit healthcare about in various forms to those who need it. A friend of mine was kept in hospital for several weeks with loads of tests done on him and only had to pay a few hundred. He was able to prove he truly couldn't afford it so the costs were dropped to a fraction. I asked him about it several months later and he said he still didn't pay. Not sure if he ever did. Not saying it's that easy for everyone, but it's not unheard of.

Yeah but like southstar said im pretty sure any long term treatments like organ transplants aren't covered by the government. I could be wrong though...

I live in the south, went to school in Cali (san diego/los angeles). Just as many people lazy as fuck in Cali as in the south. Only difference is the south they're fighting through terrible schooling, the echo's of slavery, segregation, and things like natural disasters, droughts, etc. In Cali they're just fucking lazy.
