don't know the original name of it but Visionary did a track called tempest that features that vocal.

cheers man. we're one step closer. anyone able to ID the original from this snippet? bare in mind i'm at work just know with no sound, so i'm making the assumption that the clip at this link actually features the vox.

can't remember any more. when i sang it to someone once they said they thought it might be scientist.

any ideas?

It's on "Scientist Rids the World of the Curse of the Evil Vampires"... called "Plague of Zombies"... dunno the full vocal version though... this still has vocal snippets but it's the dub.

It's a Johnny Osbourne track called 'He Can Surely Turn The Tide' from the Folly Lover album backed by the Roots Radics, produced by Junjo Lawes..I've got it on vinyl..a good mixture of roots, dancehall (singay style) and more lovers tracks..

was remixed by dub man "cottonbelly" for the hi-fi-dub sessions vol.3
song called tempest dub. newer track...should be hard to find.

I was introduced to dubstep because I was playing dub right before joe nice on a Wedneday night residency we had in Baltimore a couple years ago. I constantly listen to dub. I am a true fan, I think I try to get people into dub, as much as I try to get them into dubstep. My favorite; is not a producer, but I believe the engineer who set the standard for dub; Errol Thompson.

... and talking about engineers don't forget about lloyd barnes! i don't know a single weak tune this guy had his hands on! all killers no fillers! so check out all the old stuff from the Wackies camp!

My Recommendations:

African Roots Act 1, 2 and 3 [all on wackies]
Jamaica Super Dub Session [also on wackies]

and Keith Hudson's "Playing it cool & playing it right" [there's a reissue on basic replay] which is one of the most experimental roots/dub releases i've heard so far.

i've also noticed that most of you aren't too much into uk dub, i've only read about iration steppas here. check out the last vibronics album "dubliftment", one hell of a killer album and all their 10" releases on scoops. good gosh, this is big! they got the soul, the bass and the dub!
