Ok another re up,again everything people suggested i have done, really want to know how everyone finds the mix because it is a sticking point with me and i want to learn to make better mixes so all critique will be listened to and taken well.I have adjusted the width with the panning sample and done some more eq work, mainly at the higher end of the spectrum
I layed off the hard limiting to let the track breath more like suggested.
Any thoughts will b appreciated.

@lloydy: Nice dark, sadistic track. The atmosphere sounds very full, but the bass is too monotone imo. Try crafting some extra basses and throwing them in the mix.

@ascian: I'm feeling that vocal sample with the synths, they build really well off each other. That first screechin bass at the drop could use a little pitch adjustment.. or something along those lines to make it fit better. The glitchiness is interesting, dblue glitch?

@darkrow: Murdaaa sounds. I like the organized disarray, but I'd personally like to hear another element that leads the song. Some directional pads would pull it together nicely.

This is the tune I've been working on for the past few days:

FluidMoShun - Cheers for feedback! Will do same on yours when at computer tomorrow. All glitching was manual except the vocal which was MIDI based but not a VST

@lloydy i like the sample. well ustilised. but you def need some sub bass under that top synth.

@fluidmotion you could tamper with the top synth a little. i like the melody tho, lovely work. and the drums need to be turned up. maybe you could add more to the drums. but unless you wana keep the minimal vibe of the percusion up to you. i would stick in a few reverbed snares and claps.

@atticah im like the sounds and the melody. and loving the purple synth that comes in 1.45 and is in the intro. it sounds like about 3 tunes in one tho. its interesting. you could add more depth to the drums in the central section

heres my latest ting. 808/juke style :w:

Thanks for the feedback :) I'll try to tweak some knobs and level out the mix. And I'll check out your tune after classes tomorrow malabu.

Added a little more ooomph to the drums overall. Additionally, the part from 2:13 is part of the build-up for the second drop (which I haven't included yet). I wanted to do a double drop with the first one being anti-climactic.

@atticuh sorry for late reply, been working past few days. Ok, your track has LOTS of sweet ideas and sounds but IMO there's maybe a little too much going on. I think if you really focused in on any of the parts and developed an entire track around that it would be sweet as fuck because the sound design itself is excellent and unique. There also needs to be a bunch of low end / mid shit going on and then it'd kick ass!

@Fluidmoshun as others said, drums could be turned up. i really like your basslines though, cool sounds in there.
@jkz quite relaxing, nice drum work :3

First, cheers for the feedback on the last track guys, notes have been taken.

llyody : Love the drums in this man, switching parts especially. Choir vocals are fuckin' badass. Love the fast paced dark vibes, real nice. Short kinda beatdown in the middle is immense. As for the bass, I agree with Fluid, little more variation would go a long way. Really wanna hear the finished article.

FluidMoShun : Loving the weird vibes man. Could do with beefin up those drums a bit. Melodies and synths are cool. Structure too. Sounds strange overall, kinda damp, or wet I dunno, I don't know if I love it, or if it weirds me out a little lol.

jkz : Very chilled man, really enjoying this. Percussion is really nice. One thing I'd suggest is automating an auto filter or something on the percussion, just for a little extra variety. Bar that man, really cool sounds.

atticuh : Gorgeous intro. Love the weird break at the end man, real nice vibes there, and overall. All critique I would suggest has been said already, so I won't waste your time by saying it again.

:Q:
This is my track I made last night, and as far as the structure and notes etc. I'm quite happy. Saying that, any and all feedback and critique is welcome. Anyway, here it is:

first:
thank you all for your advices. i tried to fix the growl and the detuned synth, so here's the fixed version. if you find something wrong, dont hesitate to comment:
Soundcloud

@ascian: nice intro, but the drop is a bit disappointin for me, awesome sounds and nice work with all of those basses, but for me.. it should be @ around the half of the drop, not at the beginning.
@lloydy: love the intro of the song, but you should really do something with that snare.. its loud and overdistorted and.. dunno.. just makes me angry :D
@swaggr: it looks a well produced track for me.. nice sounds and vibes. maybe after a while it sounds a bit boring.. but unfortunately i dont like electro, so my opinion would be useless for you :D

@atticah
I think i kind of owe you feedback as your advise has been much appreciated, your tune to be honest is not really my kind of thing because i love dark heavy stuff or the more chilled side.Again it's another track for me that just has a bit to much going on.The intro is just proper mental and a bit all over the shop, sounds are a bit thin too and the beats are lacking a bit,i think the sounds you have in there just needed bringing to life a bit more and the beats most definitely need bring to life in the mix,on a positive the sound design is good and i like that kind of 8 bit sound you have going on.The sounds themselves sit nice together and you really have and ear for putting it together just needs a bit more depth and clarity to certain elements for me.But again peace out bro and thanks for the advice because you have helped me heaps with mix decisions so thankyou and good luck.

Too everyone else with the positive comments thanks i will be back i'm gonna try to work different bass sounds into the track to take away that monotone feeling the bass sets and am determined to make this track sound good. There is a sub element under the main bass i freq split it but maybe have the bass end a bit low, when i play it on my car system it is there i think i just have to bring it out in the mix.I will be back with the modified edition and will make sure to post feedback to anyone i missed.

@jkz loving the vibes, maybe add some vocal cuts and samples. If it was me, I would add more atmospheric stuff and some vocal cuts just to be used as fx
@Swaggr I would suggest using better sweeps for transitions and the lead synth sounds alittle offbeat unless thats what you were aiming for.
@DJ Sampletank Dark vibes mate, but you need to beef up that low end. Try some eq boosting or layering
@Mixe3y Pretty cool, I would say make the mids alittle fatter. Also have some breaks where you dont use the same melody.

here's somethin i've been workin on along with some others
ps; most likely removing female vocal

@swaggr - Not really my style of production, although I have been trying to incorporate some of the beat aspects of electro into my own work. Anyways I think the beat is pretty legit sounding, I really liked the use of the stutter snares in the beginning. I just feel that it gets alittle boring and repetitive, but thats my look on that genre in general so nothing personal =). I think maybe adding a little more atmospherics in the background to keep the emotions flowing would keep it more interesting. With that said I really do think it is a quality production and keep up the good work.

@DJ Sampletank - Great sample to start this deep of a track. Interesting approach to bringing in the mid range, personally I would add more of a distinct drop i think it would really compliment the bassline. I really like it though, so different and the vibes roll good. Good Work.

@Bola - Straight chillinnnn. Like the male sample, id say keep the female one too. Maybe find another way to arrange it or something but i think it fits nicely with the other sounds. I think you need some additional simple melodies with new sounds to come in and out, like where you change the hihat patterns, just to keep it interesting and keep the listener hooked. Overall the production sounds good on my KRKs and i like the vibe.

Everyone is showcasing some talent, makes me nervous to put my little clip up. Anyways I just came up with this idea today. It really has no processing or much mixing and it is just a clip. I definately want to add more bass sounds and I havent figured out yet it if Im going to make this a full out bootleg remix of pimp c - gorillaz or just use some samples and get weird with it. Any feedback will be appreciated.

@malabuandcoki - not heard tunes like this before tbh, it's cool man i'm feeling it

@Swaggr - started feeling it at 1.16 but then got kind of bored, i'm really not into housey tunes though lol

@Mixe3y - I'd make the drop stand out more, it dropped in before I expected it which if I was in a club i'd want to know exactly when the drop is (at 0.48 i'd stop the beat and bang in some vocal, then drop it) and i'd make it drop into just pure melody or bass sooner. Other than that I could groove to that in a club it's cool

Soundcloud

- not mixed down/mastered, also the sub has almost disappeared in the vocal parts which must be something to do with soundcloud because it's clear in logic and itunes. Any criticism is welcome

@lloydy Really feeling this track! Great atmosphere, and the vocals rock. Only suggestion is in my opinion try bringing out the bass during the drop, i think the hats and vocals drown it out a little too much. Cant wait to hear the final! (send me? :W: )

@swaggr Sick! I don't listen to electro that much but I was rocking out to this tune, the lead synth was the best synth line I've heard in a while, really feeling it. I might add a little sub bass in the intro, maybe side-chained by the kick, to fill it up a bit more.

@ Dj sampletank Pretty cool track, I'd personally like to hear a stronger sub, I like the texture of the one you've got, but maybe layer it with the same one an octave lower or just pure sine to give it that bit of "oomf" :)

Here's mine, It's a really rough track that i made in about an hour, but I think it's coming along pretty good imho. ( I will change that little dropping formant sound after the initial drop sound )

@lloydy: Pretty cool stuff! I'm feeling that nasty bass, but it could be switched up with some other sounds every once in a while. I think that your sub bass could come out a bit, not too sure though, I'm on headphones right now (but they're good ones!)

@FluidMoShun: Nifty haha. I'd say you could work on structuring a bit. But I really like the style you've got going here, really wonky and fun, its sweet.

@Swaggr: Cool crunchy noises and stuff. I'm really feeling that kick, its nice and punchy. I also really like your chord progression, especially at 1:00.

Here's mine, I'm not sure what genre to call it. I don't really care haha. Comments on the mix? I'm not sure I'm happy with it yet.

@Norcordubstep-Intro is real nice, loving the shuffle the drums have, would of liked to hear something a bit less tearout when it drops, but thats just my taste, kind of has a house feel to it which is cool but otherwise sounds good, the mix really crisp and it didnt get boring for me ! nice one

@lichee- the intro sounds very empty, although i was listening quite quietly, but once the synth and sub comes in the space fills out nicely, i like the 2step kinda drums, overall sounds pretty crisp and has a real nice vibe around the whole track !

@bola-reminds me of an early skream track-auto dub kindaa, i really like the shuffle of the hats and the clap sounds real nice too, reminds me alot of early dubstep, which is never a bad thing. overall great track ! nice

Heres my track ! hope you enjoy, cheers :)
