jkz - love the feeling of your track, how it gradually developes, as for advices i really like it as it is, I dont think you expected to hear more with such quality ) would love to hear what happens after the pause at 1 09 I follow you now )

Craggle - Man you reminded of that old fashioned thing called harmony an melody, well structured and well mixed track, love the lead, it is THE least annoying gangsta lead i have ever heard in my life. Hey you're from reading Ive been there few times, played in a metal band there when studied in Oxford ))) I also checked out your other tunes, simply good. I follow you now )

Gunnar Hansen - its like a day of perspective producers today on DCF))) I checked out your other stuff, its all good, I follow you now as well )))

Here s my shit, dont know how to solve the muxing problem, may it be caused vy the fact that I dont have neither the sound card nor decent speakers, cause i havent been ready to invest yet, but I will soon, do you reckon some gear will help ?

alexeyhermann digging the intro! Whole track sounds intense, good work! Not sure what mixing problem you're referring to. Can't fault it except for the clap being weak in some areas.

jkz VIBEY! Surely its going to be longer when you're done with it. not enough midrange in the pads, though and the drums sound too electronic for that type of track IMO.

Craggle Love that synth at about 45 seconds. hats sound too electronic for the track IMO. Nice track!

NorCoDubstep Very nice chord progression! Vocal sample is great. Top drums! Cannot fault, you always make amazing tunes! Nice sidechaining, too. But seriously, I would kill for a free 320 on that!

Here's mine, its a house track that I'm gona spit over...wish me luck on that haha. Oh, and its a bit repetitive, mainly because I haven't altered the second drop, its still just a clone of the first.

@Craggle - This is awesome. Really reminds of the film "Friday" - kinda RnB feel to it. Sub is really powerful and well mixed.

@jkz - intro is a bit boring. At 20 seconds I really liked it. Snare seems a bit too powerful though. When the high pulsing synth comes in I pictured it in a movie like Blade Runner where there's a montage of some sort of army mobilizing or something. Kick is nice and punchy, hi hats are well defined.

@jrisreal - Add some ex-rapper / female vocals on that melody at 1:16 and hello UK TOP 40. I like how the main synth asks a question and that sort of high-passed off beat pad answers.

Here's mine, it's kinda dubstep tempo but with a Kick snare pattern. Tried to give it an upbeat vibe and some melody, not just random sounds placed everywhere. Not expecting great feedback though, this style seems hated around here :(

@Espy: Sounds cool, neat patterns and stuff. But the feed me sampling is kind of blatantly obvious.

@Take2: Sick squelchy bass sounds. I like it, but I think the drums could be beefed up and some more high hat action could be used to give it more energy. Maybe add some more layers to increase the energy too.

@jrisreal: Cheers man! Sounding good so far, I like the progression a lot. I think the builds could be a bit more dramatic.

dj Cappa wrote:@lloydy Really feeling this track! Great atmosphere, and the vocals rock. Only suggestion is in my opinion try bringing out the bass during the drop, i think the hats and vocals drown it out a little too much. Cant wait to hear the final! (send me? :W: )

@swaggr Sick! I don't listen to electro that much but I was rocking out to this tune, the lead synth was the best synth line I've heard in a while, really feeling it. I might add a little sub bass in the intro, maybe side-chained by the kick, to fill it up a bit more.

@ Dj sampletank Pretty cool track, I'd personally like to hear a stronger sub, I like the texture of the one you've got, but maybe layer it with the same one an octave lower or just pure sine to give it that bit of "oomf" :)

Here's mine, It's a really rough track that i made in about an hour, but I think it's coming along pretty good imho. ( I will change that little dropping formant sound after the initial drop sound )

Thanks! :corndance:

@Bola: Love the male sample, but I think you should change the female sample. Great atmosphere, but a little variation at the second drop wouldn´t hurt. Overall a very good tune.

@Craggle: No comments on this one, everything sounded just right. Great tune!

@NorCoDubstep: Intro and outro are both chill as fuck. Great beat. Not sure if I like the screamy wobble or not. It doesn´t fit the song, but at the same time it kinda does.

Don´t know what to call this, but I don´t give a firetruck. Feedback etc pl0x?

@Jkz: I really like how open your track sounds, its very chill.
@ atticuh: the first track sounds awesome, it seems almost like its three different songs. Almost like a jam band but with synths, Second track sounds even better really dig the melody work
@crackle: That track is super chill, I really like the lead.
@daskmajster: I'm not sure how I feel about the end but I really like it, I will keep listening.

Here is something I have been working on, I really dont know how to classify it or if anyone else likes how it sounds. I'm not happy with the ending but I just cant think of anything better right now. Any input would be great.

Hey guys

Need some advice on this, its mainly my synths im working on but anythings cool. I just can never structure synths in a drop to sound like epic and good. its always just kind of a mash of them i can never crack it.

Drums are are little robotic since i just copy pasted the intro over the break and drop for structure purposes, im mainly talking about any EQ and the synths

Cragle - Bangin stuff man. Melodies and arps are fucking brilliant. Drums could be beefed up a bit.

Take2 - Nice one man, what I'd suggest is a little beefing up on the drumsa, and some arp, or synth or high end added on to the deep bass parts. Melodies and structure bangin too.

Espy - Nice one man. Sounds good so far, very electro, which is the style of dubstep that is making it big at the moment.

Daskmajster - Love that intro. Percussion is ace. Bass is great. Great atmosphere throughout. Listening again, really do love that intro!

Here is my latest track, don't know what genre it falls into but here it is:

Jkz: awesome can't wait to hear what it does next

Espy: its a neat loop. Hope you can do something really cool with that.

Tiger: blood. The synths just need more everything. More volume, more distortion, and more oscillators. Try using 3 oscillators all at different octaves and play around with their wave forms. Also play around with layering distortions. Although I think the way it sounds now is kind of interesting. Maybe mix in some of the synths your already using with heavier ones once you get the hang of making heavier synths.

Here is mine:
Soundcloud

Kind of a different style, kept it nice and slow and simple. I probably need to EQ a few things better but that'll be mostly trial and error unless one of you guys can give me some advice on that.

@NorCoDubstep - Yeah its a feed me remix :)

Updated my recent track, so:

@donpablo - Very interesting bass. Really like this. And you managed to stay in key with the vocal sample! Most producers of this style seem to struggle with that.

@Daskmajster - LOVE the intro. Listened to it 3 times before I listened to the main part of the track ha. Finish this and PM me it, if you don't mind. I'm a brostep guy, but this is fantastic.

@take2 - Intro sounds kinda out of key, but this drop is sick. Kinda half and half brostep and old style dubstep.

Mine updated: (Note, the changes are rather sudden as they're just put together for feedback purposes - i.e. not mixed etc)

@Espy: like the sound of this one, would very much like to hear the full version of this :D

@dogmancar: fuckin awesome tune man, love the pads and strings, love how the atmosphere and bass more than makes up for the lack of snare, i'd love a 320 when you're finished making this :D

@DJ Sampletank: brilliant beat yo, the general atmosphere of this one makes a man feel like hes trippin out a bit, which i quite like; well produced tune right here :D

and heres my one. did post this earlier, now changed the intro, did a few changes to the drop and (hopefully) made it a bit heavier; any feedback plz:

@sampletank
Love the dark atmosphere to your tune,samples and sound design are really nice and dark add some nasty tones to the tune,quality production.

@norcodubstep
All i can say is stunning,i really enjoyed everything about the track,the melody and vocal sample are sick real creative tune and very uplifting kind of sound to it.Great impact on the drops and real good sound design.

@craggle
Again quality production,i haven't listened to dubstep fm recently but when i was this is proper like a track you would hear on there.Awesome melody with that synth line.Mix sounds really clean and sounds sit really well together.Overall one of my favourites on here props to you.

@jkz
Liking this too drums sound really pumping and the bass sounds tight too.That church organ type sound you have sitting over the mix sets a really nice texture to the track my only advice is maybe a bit more variation but am going to presume because this is a whip you will get to that,really want to hear it finished.

Here is mine,this track i have been working on for a while,i leave it for months before going back because it isn't one i am in a rush to finish,i know the drums need variation in and it is more than likely what i am going to get to next time i work on it and then the arrangement sounds i will get some variation in there too hope you enjoy.

@lloydy: ease up on the reverb you have on the snare. It’s an intense track but you’re relying on that sample too much to create the atmosphere. I would work on it without the sample and make that sound nice then try putting it back in and the idea is that it will be a fuller, more developed track. Props for making something 5 minutes long though. ‘tis hard.

@FluidMoShun: nice one bruv. Your bass is so clean, I wish you showed it off more. And the hats were nice also but REALLY quiet. Maybe that was a problem on my end because I can tell you worked on them. Also, some drums would be nice.

@Malibuandcoki: I would lay some reverb over the intro, make it seem fuller. This track is right up my alley. Minimal and subtle. Keep doing what you’re doing. The beat could be more prominent, and it should be since there’s not much going on.

@jkz: Flesh out the beat. That would make it more interesting. I’m not saying lay down a 4x4 to the floor but there are these gaps where there is literally nothing to listen to. Use a delay on a hit or something to fill that space. Or rework the beat.

@Swaggr: Sinister brother. In a perfect world you’d have a badass organic bassline under this. Bass period. And some stabs and incidentals. Also, since there’s a kick hitting every quarter note I would work on it until it’s perfect, since we hear so much of it.

@DJ Sampletank: I think you’re losing some weight on the bass by having it so buzzy. Since this is a slower tune it really needs to bear down when you do hit the beat. Some bits are really nice, the aquatic bass is awesome. The hats are really thin though, I’ll bet you have plenty of room in there to let them breathe a bit. Those delayed sounds that are kinda like white noise… how did you do them? Did you synthesize them or is that a sample you found/made? It sounds a bit like a door shutting.

@mixe3y: This is going to sound really lame… I read an interview JT did and he said something about fashion. ‘Put everything you want to wear on, and then take one thing off’. Some old guy gave him that advice I think. That’s not the point. It seems to me you’re trying to fit lots of ideas into this one track. I never know how to do this because my musical terminology isn’t very deep, but I would scrap all the fuzzy, thin synths you have going and keep that heavy one at the beginning of the bar and the nice guitar sounding one with cool effects on it. See how that works and fix what doesn’t. There’s a lot of sound there and it’s not all very neat.

@Bola: Most of the elements sound deflated. What are you trying to do here? I like its minimal nature, but too keep things interesting there needs to be syncopation and real depth to the few sounds you are using. This reminds me a bit of Wounder, was that a source of inspiration to you? If not, give it a listen. It has a very similar feel.

@Sweetjames: this would be cool if it were you on a pad doing all of this live. Otherwise I feel that this has been done to death and is tired. I sound like a dick. It’s only my opinion tho.

@Lichee: When you give this a healthy mixdown I’d love a 320. It’s the little things I love about this. Quiet but clean, which beats loud and muddled every time.

@NorCoDubstep: ur vocal sample is perfect. Would I put this on and light up? Never. Would I go crazy to this out? You bet. You know what you’re doing. I’d say thin it out, work on the drums but I won’t. I think this is great for what it is.

@Craggle: Ace! Make your lead synth as beautiful as possible. It is crystal clean now, I’d dirty that sucker up.

@jkz(again 2nd WIP): wow, this one. Excellent beatcraftmanship!

@Alexyherman: Those chopped vocals have lots of potential. You could do so much with them. You’ve got a solid track if you get creative with the vocals and rework the hell out of your bassline. Mixdown yadayada

@Jrisreal: At about one minute in things get pretty empty for a stretch. Lead is solid. You’ve got the framework in place, now make it your own. U no wut 2 do. Have you been to this thread yet?
http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=177786

@take2: Structure and style dude. First things first.

@Donpablo: :Q: Yes.

@Daskmajster : Yes. More motion on the bass plz.

@ Jclarkeiv: What are you trying to get done here? I think it’s brilliant but aimless.

@take2 (again 2nd WIP): See above. It’s just, how would you even know this was your song?

@DJsampletank (again 2nd WIP): The tune plods bro. Make it scarier and then it will stalk instead.

@Dogmancar: I appreciate the atmosphere and mood of the track. What I would do though, is start working on another track. You’ll get better at everything and have more fun than working this over. Get your fingerprints on these. Lots of clean tracks that don’t feel personal this time around.

@Bandersson: The melody is way long and inappropriate. We want to dance.

@Jizzman: The sine synth is interesting. The rest are annoying. I’m glad you had fun making this though.

@lloydy: I love the way everything crumples in the beginning. If you’re going to sample Portishead (or did I mishear?) you’d do well to treat it with the care and attention it deserves. I’m into it, but it’s sloppy. Tighten it up. Much better than your first imo.
