Got skyrim yesterday and pretty much seshed it for a straight 6 hours. I can most definitely recommend buying it.
The world is gorgeous, especially when you travel to Windhelm.

got it for ps3 today (don't have the pc to run it) and have dumped around 3 hours into so far. was a little underwhelmed by the first hour or so but once the world opened up i was hooked, just like with oblivion and morrowind. loving it.

Got it today and one thing I definitely do not recommend is playing Fallout 3 anytime beforehand, as you'll be tainted with this feeling of a reskin with swords and bows instead of burning blades and guns

for me it's really just the death animations and critical hits that make me think of falloutAstral wrote:Got it today and one thing I definitely do not recommend is playing Fallout 3 anytime beforehand, as you'll be tainted with this feeling of a reskin with swords and bows instead of burning blades and guns

yea, they're unnecessary and don't really add anything to gameplayPhigure wrote:for me it's really just the death animations and critical hits that make me think of falloutAstral wrote:Got it today and one thing I definitely do not recommend is playing Fallout 3 anytime beforehand, as you'll be tainted with this feeling of a reskin with swords and bows instead of burning blades and guns
that and the character running animation is still kinda clunky (guess the witcher spoiled me)
regardless having a blast

i think the actual running animation is fine, its just if you jump, when you land you kind of slide alongdeadly habit wrote:yea, they're unnecessary and don't really add anything to gameplayPhigure wrote:for me it's really just the death animations and critical hits that make me think of falloutAstral wrote:Got it today and one thing I definitely do not recommend is playing Fallout 3 anytime beforehand, as you'll be tainted with this feeling of a reskin with swords and bows instead of burning blades and guns

Re: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
that, and the fighting animations. combat has always felt so weird in the elder scrolls games. it feels so disconnected, as if you're just swinging at airTrainrek wrote:i think the actual running animation is fine, its just if you jump, when you land you kind of slide alongdeadly habit wrote:yea, they're unnecessary and don't really add anything to gameplayPhigure wrote:for me it's really just the death animations and critical hits that make me think of falloutAstral wrote:Got it today and one thing I definitely do not recommend is playing Fallout 3 anytime beforehand, as you'll be tainted with this feeling of a reskin with swords and bows instead of burning blades and guns
