Hmmm i find myself somewhere in the middle. On one hand i dont know what goes on in peoples heads, so cant comment on their 'depressive' nature. On the other hand i do think people are sometimes pathetic and needy and cry out for attention.

Edit: Without blowing my own trumpet or sounding needy, i can safely say that ive had a lot of reasons to be depressed over the last few years. Is my lack of depression down to something chemical inside me or just being mentally robust?

innit. it does seem to me like some poeple enjoy wollowing in sadness, which really isn't productive. also, labeling yourself depressed and defending the bad vibes only really adds to self pitty.

i'm not going to suddenly never have my dark moments just because someones drawn my attention to people in a worse situation...its chemical largely after all

i am a hard working person and i often go out of my way for others, ii currently work full time, manage to fit in the music and never complain as a rule...all i want is balance really but sometimes everything seems to be fucked and i struggle

people cannot snap out of it and it has nothing really to do with your background

I never said people with depression shouldnt be treated, anyone with diagnosed clinical depression should get all the help they deserve.

i've been in dark places myself. but i know for a fact it would have taken me alot longer to get over it if i had labled myself depressed. Its a mindstate more than a condition imho

i read somthing in metro today about how african children living in slums are generally happier than western kids...


iunno what my point is but it seemed kinda relevant lol

you joke but in all seriousness they do came across as more happy.
However if you actually go into their homes lives n what not, they`re actually not happy.
They know how to find happiness in the smallest things.

I think I stated quite clearly that they're also depressed and unhappy.
Not having much does however force them to find happiness.
Even if it means finding happiness in the bottom of a plastic bottle of piss poor white wine / methylated spirits.

People are people, am sure some that were born rich and are happy would still be happy if they were born poor. Likewise some rich and depressed people would still be depressed if they were born poor.
