So all i really want are some tips on what software to use, controllers etc.
And just some general tips on mixing ??.
First Priority would be get a controller. Turntables, and a mixer seem out of your league. I recommend the Numark MIxtrack pro, or the Reloop Mixage Interface. Depends on what you are looking for, professional looking, vs easier to use. They both have pretty much the same features.

As far as mixing goes, there are plenty of tuturials/ tips online, try google.

One thing I can say is never mix two voices together, and make sure your gain is not in the red(all the way up). Hope I helped.
Now go watch a DMZ video.

As far as Skrillex and Flux Pavillion go, most people on here hate them because they are pushing the sound in the opposite direction it was built on. Dubstep was make for smaller clubs with massive sound systems. It was built on sub bass, bass and more bass. You would go to a night and be able to skank, smoke a joint and meditate on bassweight. Flux and Skrillex on the other hand are in it for the money. They are pushing mid range robot noises at 140 BPM and calling it dubstep. They want to see kids rolling on mdma, and moshing. They are using the name dubstep to push their own sound, and are confusing the masses. Thats why they get so much flack here. I am not putting all of the blame on Skrillex and Flux, but they certainly do contribute to it, hence the hate towards them.
Okay cheers man very helpful, and really thats all i did, i was having fun experimenting with mixing, and me and my mates liked it, so i shouldn't of really gone ahead of myself and posting it on site like this, so now i have learnt.

I see where you are coming from, so basically skrillex and flux pavilion and acts like these are not actually dubstep, they have taken the frame of the genre and changed it into dance music you could say, and I'm not gonna lie thats what i got into and thats what i knew as dubstep along with many others.

So they basically get so much hate because they are commercialising dubstep in the wrong way, and promoting the genre into something that it was never really
supposed to be ??? am i on the right lines.

yea im slightly confused by this also

anyway

if your really interested in mixing them buy some decent cdjs, 800s/400s, they keep their value so if you chuck it in you will most likely get back your money selling 2nd hand.

or

if you are really skint then buy a mixer and just use it with VDj, piece-o-piss

I wouldnt suggest getting expensive equipment, cuz like the music you are mixing, its probably just a phase
get a mixtrack pro, it comes with mixing software, and you can use two hands
learn how to beat match, just practice and practice some more till it becomes second nature
youll figure out when to bring in a tune and when to pull out
there are some tutorials on youtube depending on how new you are

If you enjoy what you do and how youre doing it, thats all that truly matters man
Youre doing it for you

Youre new, you will learn, you will grow
The scene is flooded with grumps
Dont let anyone drag you down

And plus, if there is no demand for trueschool dubstep, theres certainly no point in playing it out especially if youre not that into it. Some people like punk, some like indie, some like metal etc. its the same concept. Variations in genre. Spin whatever you want

As far equipment, its what you can afford and what you plan
Personally dont see anything wrong with virtual dj, ive made decent mixes with the home edition + mouse/keyboard.
Although its definitely less gratifying because its so easy thats its not a challenge.
For me its a hobby, i hate listening through the intro mixing portions of individual tracks so i just make a mix out of tracks i like
Technology is so powerful these days

If youre going for a controller, make sure it has a soundcard. Preview is your best friend
If you want to be a bit more legit, throwdown on some cdjs and you can play out almost anywhere without criticism (if youre planning to take tht route)
Turntables are the ultimate experience though. Also the most expensive (if you plan on spinning all vinyl)

Best of luck, im confident youll get where you want to

His mix was all brostep, and he is a beginner. Telling him to get turntables means that he will have to start a vinyl collection, or make a hybrid setup.I don't know too many brostep artists that release in vinyl. Plus I don't think he is looking to spend alot of money.
