Well in a few months people will because I just made the e-mail and I'm not making another one.

I don't think the name matters really, just look at Deadmau5. If he wasn't famous, would you really think of music when you heard Deadmau5?

Bout to make the youtube.

Awesome man!

I'd love to contribute. (Note: I'm not advanced like a lot of the people around here. I do what I can to make my music sound as good as possible.)

I'd be showing people around Ableton; native effects, drum programming, resampling, etc.
Fairly new to the producing realm. Only been going about a year and a half.

Alright, I'd like to contribute tracks and do some tutorials. I'd also be able to help with the graphics.
...in my opinion

If you get this beyond startup-level Id be up for doing some tutorials/videoing myself djing/offering lessons on that... or maybe just kicking you a few tunes to host if nothing else, Ill do what I ccan to help you with the keyword war though... You can understand where Im coming from wanting to see where it goes first, because these projects dont always work out around here, but so far sounds so good, keep me in mind if you need general audio processing tut's, tunes, videos, bleblehbleh...

I don't know if anyone values my slightly limited knowledge, but I could probably do a tutorial or two.

Alright, sounds fun and dandy right now.. Might even seem like you're getting somewhere with this, and I'm not trying to down what you're doing, but please, oh please.. If you're going to do this, put all your effort into it, and actually stick with it, not just a one day idea, then drop it..

If this is going to be a place to host tunes, I'd say stop now.. We already have UKF & Plenty other outlets that do that sort of thing, and Jaydot (From this Forum) Attempted the exact same thing, and it didn't end well, in my opinion..

Beyond that, when it comes to Graphics, give the Job to one person, and that person only, don't go around asking multiple people for this and that, or else the end result is going to look wonky, as if it came from 10 different brains.. Nobody likes wonky looking garbage.. Check out other popular channels, try to make sure yours looks as good, if not better.. And have the person designing this one show you some of his work, if it looks like shit, then he (or she :dunce: ) Will make yours look like shit, which you don't want.. Graphics should be #1, because in actuality, you can have all the idea in the world, but if it isn't presented correctly, no one will give a shit about it.. People want something Simple and and Sleek to look at... This doesn't mean Pixelated and cheesy like Win 98 .. But nor do people want Rainbows and Alpaca's everywhere, so get someone who can fulfill that, because it's what people want to see.. It's Web 2.0.. Simple and Sleek.

I'd vote against placing anything to do with Dub or Step in the name.. Because if you want to elaborate, or branch out, into other Genres, it would be awkward having a name like "DubBassicsStepSubbersElite" .. Fuck does that have to do with Hip Hop?!

Also, don't go giving the User & Pass to every Larry or says they will contribute... Check out their tunes, and what they have to offer.. You don't want some loser sitting back, watching the Channel get popular, and then one day logging in, changing the password / email.. And then posting his shit tunes all over it, to get popular himself.. People do shit like this, so don't go that route.. It might even be better to have you, and maybe one other person that you trust, take care of the channel, and if someone wants to contribute they can send you the file that they wish for you to upload.. (That is what Mediafire is for.. )

And PLEASE make sure you REALLY want to do this.. And remember, there's plenty of other channels dedicated to this, and it may not get as popular as you wish..

If you had Dubway's backing, and could use the DSF Name, and have it advertised on these forums, that would be a different story.. But to most people, this is just going to be another Youtube Channel, with tut's & shit.

That's just my honesty, and I lay it out with seriousness, because I don't see the point in have a thread full of positivity towards an idea, which is not executed to it's full ability in the long-run, and ends up being shit..

I also see that you had an idea on a Ustream for the people here.. What happened with that idea? Stick to one idea, you can't handle multiple things like this at once, you have to execute one at a time..

If you do it right, I'm up for helping with Graphics.. But not if you're going to have 10 Other people doing it also.. Just makes things too complicated.

Luck Good.

I just finished doing a FL Studio Absolute Beginner tutorial. I just explained how to use the Step Sequencer, Mixer, Browser, etc. Basically how to start making music in FL as if you had JUST bought it.

I don't know if I want to upload it yet because we don't have established logos or anything. I'm thinking that we should make like a 5 to 10 second intro for every video. I have an idea of how it would be, like, it'd just show snippets of a few videos showing that we have people working in different DAW doing different types of music. Once we have a few videos done we can get on that.

Yeah I would hold off until theres like 3-4 videos and a good logo etc. When I get back up to my studio on Monday I can do a tutorial on something. I use Logic so anything on there or anything with plugins or something. Could do a patch tutorial on Massive or whatever anything really.

What program do you use to capture your screen? Or do you do it by video camera?
