8 bit fast synth????

i have no idea wtf it is called >.< but ive been tryin to figure out how in the hell to make it!!
a good example..well the best i could find, is in excision's track"8 bit superhero" its the fast modulated synth that comes in at 1:12...ive been foolin around with this 8 bit sound i made but i cnt seem to get it to do what im wanting to >.<
PS
im using NI massive so if there are any tutorials please link them! T_T ive been wanting to incorporate this sound into one of my tracks for so long. please help meh! :O

On my phone right now so I can't listen to the song, but if you're looking for some retro/chiptunesque sounds Tweakbenches "Peach" is pretty good, it also comes with bangin' presets and best of all; it's free!

with a bit of vibrato
