VVVVVV FTW.

And, I just made an example video for how the track videos could end up in After Effects. It turned out to be 2.31 gigs FOR THIRTY SECONDS OF VIDEO. WHAT THE FUCK.

Anyone know any good video compressors? O_O

Nevermind, I've got it under control. Here is a test video, it's unlisted so only people with links can view it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F53sp7GEieM

Tell me how you guys like it, what can make it better, etc. I think the logo needs more depth but the design I like. JR made it.

EDIT: I just realized the audio quality is terrible. Will look into it.

THEN YOU COME UP WITH SOMETHING!

Nah, it's an acquired "get". It doesn't really matter what the logo is anyway as long as it's simple. Our content will push the logo and people will just accept and associate it with Steppers. I don't think it looks REALLY amateur though.

You like the waveform idea? PRETTY SWAGGIN HUH

It's a triangle...with a sine wave :W:

Here's two other version's I did:

Black and White, base design:

Metallic, could possibly take the place of the blue and yellow version on the video:

Input?
Suggestions?

Can I get in on this? I can do 3d Mograph stuff as well, I'm a decent dubstep producer as well.

Another thing we might want to do for the logo is to put a very very very subtle animation of the shading on the logo that the viewer would not notice, but might keep them interested subconsciously? Or is that just going too far? :?

I really like this one, the one in the video just didn't look too good with the colors.
What about the name Steppers under the logo?

I like the idea with Steppers under the logo, but I don't like the look of the metallic logo. It just looks really cheesy and amateur to me, like trying to be TOO flashy and it makes it look amateur.

In all honesty i prefer the metallic one,i don't agree with you on the cheesy and amateur thing.Your original design is a lot more amateur looking.I do like the idea of having steppers under the logo though. This is gonna be quality when it is put together.

I also think that the metallic logo doesn't contrast enough to the black background, while the blue and yellow colors do.

@ChadDub,

Stop blocking out peoples suggestions man, they say they like the metallic, go with the metallic..

I myself liked the simpler one that Jrisreal posted, alongside the Metallic one.

The Logo in the video looks like shit.. (Other's will say "Amateur") Fuck that, it is shit, deal with criticism.

By the way, the logo does matter.. UKF Would be much less popular if their logo was shit.

You will disagree with this post, because you wish to be "Mad BAWWS 'N Sh!t"

Then again, maybe you won't, since I said you would.

Blue and Yellow are some nasty fucking colors together, by the way... Unless you actually know what the hell you're doing, which you don't, as you are not a GFX designer.. Stop trying to run the whole show, and let someone who does this stuff do it right.

I knew I should've said something along the lines of "I'm not going to block out people's ideas, I'm just saying that I don't like it and I'm waiting to see what other people think and suggest.".

I'm (we're) still developing this idea and it'll take around a week to get it all straight and have everyone as satisfied as possible.

EDIT: Ok, CE is going to be working on a few things today regarding the logo and stuff. We're going with the metallic logo. He's doing some 3D animation shit for the intro animation for the track videos. Just a small animation like I did in that example video. It's just ideas so we'll go from there when he's done.

Quick screen shot of the Metallic Logo in 3D-ness. Opinions? It is going to be animated similarly to how Chad did it in that video he posted except I made it so that the word "Steppers" Is coming out of the top of the logo. The logo starts face down so you can see steppers. I have a light run by it making a cool light shift effect plus cool shadows. Then the logo flips up to this position in the picture which is what will be shown during the videos of songs (not tutorials) I also animated a slow moving light around during the still image so that it gives it constant slow evolution and animation so that it doesn't become a stagnant image. Should be pretty sweet. The whole animation is rendering now, will post again when its done!

Firstly;

Monochromatic graphics are notoriously pleasing to the eye, you don't want to detract a viewer from what they're there for.

Please, please, please don't use a shite typography; go for something lovely and cynical like Coolvetica : http://www.dafont.com/coolvetica.font a amazing free version of Helvetica.

The after effects on the video look really cheesy - if you're putting up annoying bro or electro house then yeah its cool but if you're putting up non-disposable music and ideas then you want something refreshingly simple and something you'll remember.

Secondly; steppers sounds stupid.

Thirdly; CE - could you make the logo have a further tilt with more back shadow? It looks a little "pushed to the side" opposed to "placed at an angle" if you get what I mean? I think as a still image logo it looks a bit lost!

Looks brilliant though!

I am using Helvetica Neue "Ultra Light" Its very sleek and works well with the modern minimal metallic logo imo.
