Yeah, I did that... seemingly to no avail. I can honestly say the ordeal as sapped my entire "first WIP posting" excitment. Thanks for your patience though, I guess I'll just keep messing about? I also love that I cant seem to delete what I did, so my failure is immortalized haha never seen anything like this in the forum. embedding soundloud shit seems like 101 stuff around here. *sigh*.

The song you upload, the link will look something like...

http://soundcloud.com/nnny/with-feeling-wip

For example is mine. Just go to your song, and copy the link in the address bar, nothing else. Paste that in between the Soundcloud tags man. Also, you should be able to edit the original post and change it as you wish.

@elyhess - sweet man, I like the way some of the basslines are used in an 'incidental' manner, which sets them up nicely for their more prominent roles as the tune progresses. Very cool. Not sure if that was your initial idea haha but works for me. Maybe look into getting that kick a bit deeper? I find it brushes very closely with the snare itself.

@pixelscum - chill as fuck man. could rip bowls to that all night.

@Congojack - Very nice; I like the kick sound, nice presence. Keep it up

@Noisestorm - Huge. You bastard. Hahaha sick shit as always my man, loving it.

In addition to my posting minutes ago, this? Criticisms (preferably of the constructive variety) please. Soundcloud

@nnny-I don't rate pianos in dubstep that much. I always think it gives a cheesy feeling. The percussion (especially the rim hits panned out) was great. I think the song would be more powerful if you chose some better notes for your sub. Lacks any sort of umph. also the kicks are a little to out of the groove for me. But its heading in a good direction
@Doug Riley-Geeeeeeez this one is a stomper. Its like coki meets lil john. I think a g-funk esque square wave type lead would add a lot to this as the song progresses.
pixelscum-some 2007 shit. I'm doin some serious head noddin to this one. I felt like the synths were a little unisnpiring but the groove was tight.

My heads all weird, don't even know where I'm going with this one. Have at it!

My WIP - What I'm looking for feedback on is for after the drop which comes in at 1min 09 and I want some tips on how to give it more groove.. More of a KOAN Sound type feel! - The intro doesn't go with the drop because I started it off thinking it would be a dark tune and then the dropped into something along the lines of KOAN Sound

It hasn't had anything much in the way of mixdown so if that could slide by unnoticed that'd be good!

Soundcloud

renegadex - I like the strings and the pitching effect on them.. Drums coming in sound very nice and the mix is very well balanced - Perhaps could do with the drums being back in the mix a TINY bit. Good build and I like the sample. Drop is great - The things going on in the background are nice, overall great job!

Mannyyyy - Arrival - Very nice drums and the atmospheric rawrrr's are very nice.. Great build up! Bassline is pretty sick - I really like it! Don't think it's shitty at all, very nice in fact!

Power - Textures are awesome! SIIIICK. Am loving this mate - Would buy this if the opportunity so presented itself!

nnny - Very relaxed! Lovely piano. Yeahhhh... Am really digging the percussion and that rim shot type hit!

bodom418 - The percussion pattern is very nice I am digging that! Not a massive fan of the percussion loop from 41 seconds.. It seems so generic I'd definitely change that up! The drop is VERY nice though! Has a very nice rhythm. The synths could definitely do with some high end though!

@minusworld: Sorry to say but not really getting the groove with this. I would find the key the vocals are in and structure your basslines around that. Also keep everything in the same scale, it will help it to flow much better. The tuning seems off at the moment. You only started 2 months ago so dont expect to get everything straight away :W:
@Ascian: Top notch production as always! big fan of your tutorials as well. As you said the intro isnt meant for the drop so. Would love to get a longer preview of this ;) the only bad thing i have to say about it!
@bodom418: Sounds working nicely together in the drop, good stuff! Maybe add more depth/layers to the melodic sections they are a bit empty compared to the rest of the tune. Adding incidentals will help with this alot!
@dougriley: getting dark vibes from this. sweeet nice percussion, nice production! :)

Feedback appreciated as always. Kinda trying to stretch myself with my newer stuff so obviously mistakes will be made!

@Ascian : It sounds HUGEEEE. One thing though was that the small melody you put in there is a but too low compared to your other sounds.

@Filtersnake: Whoah... PUT YO BAG BACK ON!!! Haha awesome tune no complaints here. I just think it could be turned DOWN a little.

@Bodom418: At some points I was all "ahhh a little too much" But thats just how I prefer my dubstep. I feel like you have a little too much going on after your drop. Other than that, turn up the mix a tiny bit its kind of low!

Heres my new WIP its sort of the same style as my sig track it has its basic layout, just lemme know what you guys think. THanks!

Ascian - Funky bass. Think gating that pad a bit before the drop would give it more impact. Maybe a fat snare his too just before.

killerz - Good sounds, but I think the bassline melody is too upbeat. Should play around with a closer grouping of notes rather than going up and down the board. Find a nice evil scale to work with on googl.

antman - Distort that bass man this isn't cbeebies. Nice bitcrusher might be what you're looking for.

atticuh - Fatten that lead up with unison/detune. Get more hats going too. I also feel like the rythm is too varied to get into comfortably.

Somethin on the darker tip I got on the go.

I took the intro to the tune I posted up a bit and made some basses and synths that went together with it a lot more! Let me know what you think so far.

Soundcloud

minusworld - This is very nice in terms of creativity, MAIN piece of advice is learn about mixing and the WONDERS it can do for your tune.. The main things to learn would be how to get the levels right between your different elements, proper EQ technique and proper compression technique.. That will improve your tunes NO END! Great job though mate, think it took me about 2 years to get to that kind of standard!

filtersnake - Cheers for the words man, appreciated =) Your tune: As soon as I hit play I was taken back a bit, that beep is looovely! Good filtering bringing the elements in.. Drums being uncovered quicker than the other instruments is nice. When it kicks in with the melody it is really good mate, really good. The only thing is I would slightly change that lead synth - Or maybe it just needs mixing a little better. A very light delay and a little reverb will do it! Drop is very creative - Could benefit from some mixing but that will obviously come and as is, lovely lovely!

antman - Cheers for feedback man! Your tune: Nice hat pattern and I really like that gated sound just before the drop. The bass synth needs varying every now and again and it also sounds quite flat - Try duplicating it on another channel and adding a weird effect, mainly wet

atticuh - Thanks for feedback mate - Your Tune: Haven't heard the original but I really like the stabby synth in the intro and the breakbeat is nice, quite bouncy. Haha, this is nutty - all over the place! I like it!

SpungE - I'm digging the percussion, nice vibe. This is very dark! The bass synths need to be turned UP but am really loving the dark garagey type vibe!

@Ascian: The mix is super nice now. Its filthy and a lot of your textures are pretty cool. Nothing I can complain about so far!

@SpungE: This tune is deep. Pretty sick. I just wanna "feel" your kick and snare more.

@atticuh: Thanks for all the feedback on my track! I like your remix a lot. The bass could be a little "deeper" I like your drums too! Nothing I can really complain about besides that its not my style, but it IS a well made track so far. Cant wait to hear more.

Here is my track updated. "Creature from mars" I changed the main bassline to be more.. "evil alien monster thingy" sounding. I also variated the notes as well, and added a breakdown, which I feel could use some work! Let me know what you guys think! Thanks.

Sound all for the feedback, aint got online to thank yee all in a while.

@bodom, great starry eye remix i'd rate that over jakawob now have to say, get those kicks and snares pumpin though and you be in business.

@ascian, thats gonna be a screamer, good job at the end of it the bass on the offbeats is class more of that ;)

@spunge, percussion is lovely son the seriously makin a presence in that tune, i'd break it down after that and come back in wit some heavy snare and some flowin hats if you want it to gather life as it goes

@rightontime, i'll tell ya exactly where you goin with that tune bud and it's down the good ol dub reggae road wit a twist, the snare changes per bar give it a good bit of variation and interesting listening, keep up the good work

@renegadex, i have a bit of a question instead of feedback son (quality tune). The bass that starts at 1:38 has a sound that i'm very interested in making. The only way i can describe it is the same kinda effect that Legion has on his voice in Mass Effect 2 and it's a really really interesting sound i'd be seriously grateful if ya have a few mins to give us a couple of pointers on how ya made it cause i want to layer something around those lines with some vocals get a geth sounding voice.

@acrap, fair play to ya's if yee have only been producin as long as ya said cause thats a rippin tune, but i'd advise to check the gain structure thread and work on that cause it will give you a shit ton more head room sounds like ya have your faders all up a good bit.

@antman, mixdown is nice and clean but i'd do a bitta modulation on that bass get it flowing a bit more.

@minusworld, check the gain structure thread bud and read up SHITLOADS about mixdowns. make sure all is in the same key aswell :) for someone who has been producin 2 months it's quite good but you got alot of tedious reading and A/Bing on your hands, good luck!

@noisestorm, not much to say here son sure everyone knows you are the job! absoloute ripper of a tune. I do have 1 question for ya though, you know peter lemasney by any chance?

Here's the updated bit of this track anyways i've still got a alot to do with it puttin alot more into the intro and changing drum patterns etc but i jus need to know the mix is ok me speakers are busted. (i'm one of those mix as you go types) Feedback appreciated :)

bodom418 - Pretty banging man, drums are nice man, but a little variation would go a long way. Can't comment on production too much at the moment but all seems well.

Rightontime27 - Lovely percussion, bongos especially. Panning gentley gives it such a brilliant feel. Panpipe-y sound and synth/stringsynths all work very well together. Drop before final section is really nice. Melodies are off the hook. Great work man.

Ascian - (1)Build and intro is awesome, dark as fuck. For more groove, I'd suggest, depending on what you use, make the hats and percussion play a swing beat, and with that funky sound it has already, try modulating an arpeggiator and adding it in at intervals. (2) Smashed it.

filtersnake - Pretty much on point mate, melodies are great, intro as well. Like people have said, a bit more mixing and your on to a banger man.

antman - You got me tapping my feet dude. A lil more percussion variation, maybe a little on modulation on the bass and this'll have me dancing next. Productions good, and when the higher bass falls apart down to the deeper bass, thats great. [Just realised new version] - Better man, more dark, spacey.

SpungE - wow man, very dark, very good. Moving bass is awesome. Percussion rocks too. I second congojack as and idea of what next.

take2 - drop and samples in it are awesome. This is a total head bopper man.

This is my latest WIP, I have tried to mix different styles and elements. I just want to see how it goes soo far. Constructive feedback on sub, mix and the bass in the choruses is the main points. Thanks in advance guys.
