Considering his age and the year it was when metallica started, he was a pretty tidy drummer. Now he can't play anything more complicated than a yamaha keyboard demo song.

Plus he's a tool, along with his bandmates.........metoolica........

J Davies sounds like hes literally being serious that they were dubstep before anyone else, Which is an arrogance I cannot believe

The whole thing is quite funny, but at the same it's quite upsetting that someone has enough of an ego to jump on a watered-down version of a genre, about half a decade too late and then, despite obviously knowing nothing of its history, realistically claim to have been involved in its creation.

Funnily enough, When put in a more grandiloquent way it highlights how arrogant and ignorant the whole thing is even more.

I'd love to get the opportunity to correct J Davies on everything he has said :cornlol:

Very well said.

It's so painful when people try and claim music as dubstep (or whatever genre) because it happens to fall in the same BPM. It's just the same shit old Korn with gated snares. Is that really the only boundary between dubstep and nu metal these days?

He can hear the influences of the music his band makes in the types of 'Dubstep' tunes he's heard.

IMO the stuff (i imagine) he hears has more in common with his music than it does with Real/Proper/Orginal/etc Dubstep...so I can see why he'd think that.

His music used sub bass (from what I understand - I've probably only heard one tune of thiers at most) and guitars. Not all that much different if you really think about it.

Of course it's a ridiculous claim, but these are ridiculous people.

p.s. are we all forgetting the influences Distance talked about back in the day on Dubwarz?
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn

Who cares about what they think... The opinion of a random forum member on here is
of much greater value.

Not even kidding.

you can definitely hear korn influence in Distance's early stuff, 'tuning' in particular reminds me of korn

korn sucked balls after their 3rd album though

2nd album. the 3rd had fred durst on it. though i wouldn't say those were any good either, specially considering all the exagerated bullshit teenage drama and the lame ass parts where davis starts crying coz he got molested as a child.
