runners up include Cartman and Stewie. Both started off as crude 1 dimensional 'evil' characters and developed into the most bizarre, camp, oddly-faceted parts of their shows. The last episode of family guy (Road to the Pilot) highlights this pretty well.

imo, Dwight Schrute is pretty shallow as characters go, he couldn't carry a feature
