Ohmicide would suit, its a bandwidth plug and it has a number of distortion types which suit pretty much anything and has some very useful solo and dry/wet features. Also recomend D16 decimort :) ohmicide is great for heavier basses as well, but takes up a lot of CPU

To get that sound though it takes a lot more than just one distortion plug ;) Layering, lots of EQ and some resampling would be starters

hahaha yeah i knew the good old square wave with a little distortion on it wouldn't do the trick i was just wondering what different kinds of distortion you guys hear in that, like overdrive, saturation, tube distortion, waveshaper distortion, bitcrushers? i know it's really hard to tell just by listening to the final product i was just hoping for a point in the right direction, thanks!

Kinda sounds like it's been run through amp simulators, no special settings or anything.

Ive been fortunate enough to have had discussions with Tim a number of times ref his productions and he is a big fan of this bit of kit in particular.

If you're on Fl, try the mixer channel preset called guitar stuff and mess around with waveforms and other effects. Not too far off

I noticed with FL10 when I got it there is a plug-in called Hardcore. It seems to be a lot like a guitar amp, fiddle with that and you can get some seriously crunchy sounding bass.

If you don't have that I am sure there are lots of other guitar effect VST's out there for you. Distance has been using them for donkeys since he put out his "My Demons" album.
Abstrakt.

Come check out my fothermucking soundcoud:

Something TOTALLY different. Really enjoyed this badboy and the melodies.
