This!

Anyway I used to do beat poetry, its sort of like Rapping but without the egotism and crudeness. I used to write a lot of what I would class 'deep' lyrics. To me its about a way of life really, you have to get into the right head space. You can't just 'write deep lyrics' because you want to. It has to come from a deep part of you, a message you want to express or a meaningful vibe you have about existence.

Play with rhymes in your head till you come up with something catchy. Use metaphor and alliteration to describe the thing. Its got to be something universally intimate to people, something people can relate to. Something archetypal and attaches its self to an emotion people in general find powerful. (Why most pop songs are about love/sex).

Its gotta Rhyme obviously and stand up on its self and have a consistency. Look at how much more powerful some of Eminem's tunes are compared to your average hiphop. Its because he's intensely intimate with the context of the track and it projects through the work.

Wingdings FTW. Then resample them as raster images. Have you tried word art with the chrome gradient on it? Bad man tings.

.... any better ideas? cuz, i really don't see any other way to write.

note: unsure if sarcasm, and even if not, a perfectly valid opinion. ^ serious followup question.

Try writing in a mixture of superscript and subscript. Gives your lyrics a whole other dimension. 8)

2day, this was the first part of that statement you quoted me on. that's why I say it's stupid to write about "how i feel today" because it's not poetry - its just telling people how you feel.

and I know this is kinda a joke topic, hence why I made the statement about skrillex's songwriting being emo and uninspired. however, as a poet and a professional writing English major - i do feel the need to discuss it seriously.

Or you can just be poor and download Open Office like a n0000b!
