@ Sunshaft
I think the synths are a bit simple but the mix and arrangement sound good so far.
@ stranger_sounds
Really digging it. Reminds me of that future garage sound I heard about recently. The synthesis is lovely. Keep it up!
@ LukeRaith
This has potential, just arrange it like any other dub track and touch that shit up ;]

Began this track yesterday, am excited to work on it more. Give me your worst.

nnny- I know this is really late but thanks man I really appreciate that, it means loads coming from a producer of your caliber. I am stepping down from my management position at work so can go back to school, but it will also give me more time to work on and learn about producing. Maybe even catch up to you :6:

ok since I am four pages behind.

Voodeedoo- strange track man I haven't heard much like it. I like strange though :W: critique wise I wasn't real sure how I felt about the bells/piano thing at 0:44 but it does kind of work just the initial few notes seemed to have too much reverb and made it jumbled imo. this is will be interesting to see where you take it. you might consider working on more atmosphere too but that's just me, in my tracks I tend to have too much atmosphere :)

Tomkay13- makes me think of dubstep if it was around in the early hip hop days. Kind of interesting actually. As you expand your track, you might consider condensing your intro down a little because if you have say a 3min track a 1min intro is a little much imo. I do the same thing though I make a long intro then as I progress into the track I try condense it down, sometimes that doesn't work though on my latest wip the intro is like a minute five or something

Gramilion- really hard to give feedback on snippets. Gain levels seem fine, patches seem nice but have no idea where you plan to go with it so I can't judge.

Stranger Sounds- man wish I could give real feedback on it, it's above me. Love it though man.

sunshaft- overall nice tune man, I'm not a big fan of the yois but you pulled them off pretty nicely. My only concern is the transition from ~0:57-1:10 the filtering seems a little strange maybe filter just the bass or something instead of the whole track. I dunno

Leave Blank- Idk if you wanted feedback or not but the track in you sig is huge

Here's an update of my thing don't really know how to describe it, at times I'm proud of it and others I think it's a jumbled mess

I know how you feel, I get through making tracks and give up as i either run out of ideas or the passion for the noise just goes out of the window, i think if you keep at that track, mix a few elements up, you could be onto something, i'd like it to be a little bit faster?

No motivation to finish this one, might come back to it another time,

@ElementalTJ - Nice growly bass, interesting stuff going on in the high range (sounds like an occasional submarine ping). I think the bass can be cut with some "breaks" very briefly at times to give it a bit of variety, instead of just constant bass hitting you all the way through the track.

@tomkay13 - Really digging everything up until 1:17 -- the bass that cuts in is too harsh compared to everything before it, IMO, and the different bass sounds are so inconsistent that it just sounds kinda chaotic and disorganized. But that's just me... I've never been a fan of the new "blow-your-speaker" brostep fad.

@Gramilion - (a) too quiet, (b) it sounds flat, needs some EQing and possibly a bit of distortion, (c) add a sub (sine wave)... otherwise sounds promising.

@Voodeedoo - Loving the drums. Those SFX are a neat idea but they sound familiar and "over-used" (reminds me of every robot I've ever seen in the movies). Add some chopping and processing (reverse, vocoder, beat repeat, etc.) to add some variety and I'm sure it will sound awesome. Nice synths. I bet this wound sound great with a nice bass riff, if that's the direction you want to go.

@stranger_sounds - Loving it, very tight production. Lots of attention to detail. IMHO the Burial/Synkro-esque pitched vocals is becoming overused and relying on them for a hook will only limit your creativity; so perhaps steer clear of those in your future works if you want your music to be more original rather than just straight emulation.

@Sunshaft - Same idea as above; the talking "yoy" bass is so recognizable and overused these days that IMO it's best left out of your productions unless you are going to be using it in a new and original way.

I extended my previous WIP with a new riff, though I'm not sure I'll keep it that way. Anyways.. for now.. here's my WIP:

Hey fella's, first time posting here aye, sup haha :P

@tomkay13 - Bro thats a pretty sick tune you got going. Love the concept, the sounds from the drop are crisp as. Only advice i could think of is to have another look at the intro, its quite repetitive. the sounds are good but maybe if you built them up in a more progressive way? Not sure haha. Got potential though man.

@antman - Hey man, not the biggest fan of dirtyish dubstep but gotta love the old skool vibes you got goin on in that tune, no advice really the production sounds spot on.

@Leave Blank - That song in your sig is epic man, love the vibs. reminds me of some scuba. everything sounds pretty spot on to me, i rekon you could chuck some mid range sounds in there occasional to give it that little bit extra variation or something. Top work bro.

@Stranger Sounds - Absolutely diggin this track man, drums are sick and make me want to have a boogie. Very Burial-esque. Not to sure would you could take the track next but i reckon if you listen to some burial and similiar artists the inspiration will come. keep at it dude.

Heres my new work in progress, tryna go for a dungeon step vibe for this one. any feedback is appreciated :D

@Disperse - Very smooth. I loved the 0.55 mark. :D Soo chilll. Is very relaxing while listening to stoned. Everything sounds so great. The quality is superb. Timing is excellent. I love this song! I'm following you right the fuck now.

@mattdesl - Perfect transitions. Very dreamy sounding. The only thing that bothers me is the riff from 2.45 and out. But it isn't bad at all, man(:

@slinkydubs - Creepy ass tune. I loved this one! It'd be a shame if you never finished it. Dx I'm not really sure what to comment on this one... But it was very good(:

@Iorek: I actually like it quite a bit, but the hard panning is a little weird and disorienting.

@Mattdesl: Intro is excellent, and It's really smooth, but it's seems so lowpassed aound 0:55 and maybe a pad or something high pitched with a lot of reverb would help fill the space? Also it seems a little slow, but I kinda like how it gives it this cosmic disco feel.

@Disperse: Very vibey and just wonderfully warm bass in this. feels liek I'm in vietnam jungle hunting and it's all filmed very high contrast haha.

Here's the thing I did today that I like Soundcloud

@disperse - Overall vibe is great, but I think you need to come up off the reverb a bit on the snare and probably change the kick aruond for a bit more punch. Just swimming in reverb, it's a bit too much. Good stuff though, can see some perverse influence there ;)

cheers son,. I get this way about a lot of the stuff i get through, i might just fire up a knock-out spliff and power up the sine cannon and crack on with a few mashups of the main synth. Any ideas how/where i should take it? :6:

@slinkydubs , elementalTJ said exactly what i was thinking the whole time, that eery feel yet it was just mindwarping. you must finish it !
@disperse - the reverb is kinda overwhelming, but i can see the structure nicely, maybe sidechain to hear the kick more! ;)
@ Sunshaft - I think the synths are good and all so is the structure, but i think the melodical side needs to really flourish in this kinda "feely" track :) good stuff

Sup guys,

@ ElementalTJ & Reliq - Thanks dudes really appreciate the positive feedback and I'm glad you like it ;-)

@Subfect - Chur bro, It's all about the vibes with this stuff aye. I agree with the reverb aswell, it's one thing I find hard because I love reverb and am often guilty of soaking everything in it and going a bit overboard haha. Will ease up a bit on that :Q:. Yeah the drums I've got laid out atm are really straight forward and i'm not really happy with them, I'm going to go back once I have written the 2nd drop and sort those out, needa get some mean rythym going on haha :)

@Specimen-Yarp - Yep will get that reverb sorted  . Just looked up sidechaning then, ive never had a play around with it before aye. Just one of those things ive overlooked and never really knew what it was. Looks legit though and easy to do! Cheers for that dude.

Thanks heaps for all the feedback guys, really appreciate it!!! Hopefully I'll have a full length work in progress up soon :D

i can relate man - I used to drench everything in reverb until Chewie, bless his soul showed me the error of my ways. My tracks cleaned up substantially after that ;) Unless it's pads, you should drop reverb down to no more than a couple of seconds, and give it plenty of pre-delay.

@specimenyarp tight mixdown, snares sounds real sharp, my fav part by far is from 0.55 till the tempo gets pitched down, that tempo fits so well, and you should use more of that wooorne sound haha cos its sick!!
@reliq nice experimental sounds youve got going, i think id perfer it if you had a 4x4 beat behind it to give it some groove!
@elemental really like the intro, great way to get straight into it! :)

let me know what needs fixing up! ive had chance to listen through headphones so the mixing might be a little off :)

cheers my mate, at the missus' house at the minute, but feel free to send anything over to slink1982@googlemail.com and i'll check them out tonight, i will also get omething sent back to you too, that transforming synth is already combinated up for sharing, i will drop you a read me file too for notes on automating the mid range and running it through an arp, with a bit of creativity i think you could get something really cool coming from it if you add your own unique touches to it

Fancies making a chilled out stoned type tune which I've never really done before, let me know what you think! I think I may change the tom tom part as it's a little off putting, your input on that would be appreciated!

Soundcloud

Iorek - First couple of sounds are nice, the brushy hi hat needs a bit of EQ I think.. I like the bells, they remind me of that song that John Legend did with Magnetic Man.. Which is an ABSOLUTE banger. One of my favourite dubstep tunes. Got a real military vibe.. Like I'm going on a march. Wompy things are really nice but need to pop out a LOT more. Beat is VERY nice though, loving that! Loads of shuffle. Structure is very nice. With some more polishing it will be awesome!

Mattdesl - Very nice atmosphere. Pad has some very nice filter movement. Good textures. Stabs are nice and I like the minimal drop in the intro. Building VERY nicely... Ahhhhhh amazing. Mate... Seriously loving this!! Very well produced too! Gagging for some 80s synth pop style vocals a la Chromeo.

Disperse - Very nice atmospheres mate.. Some serious talent. Snare type hit is awesome. What was that made out of? Which reverb unit you use? DARRRRRK. Sick mate, drop is amazing.

ElementalTJ - Haha, weird melody.. WHOOOAAAAAA!!! Haha. This is pretty sick mate, awesome job! Not much feedback to give really! Great work.

Reliq - Nice atmosphere in the intro, I like the verbed out footsteps. Change came at just the right time but I'm not a fan of that synth, sounds really weird and the melody is very disorientating. Hmm, it's a bit of an anticlimax from the start as the start is awesome. Snare is too far back in the mix too!

Specimen-Yarp - Sick kick and snare. Arpeggiated lead is sick, good work on that. I'm not a massive fan of how "bright" the verbs on the intro are... Hurts my ears a little bit on these KRK RP6's when turned up a bit. Nice bass line though, very noisy which I like. At 1min 22 when it switches up, I really like that, I'd have preferred to hear that at the start I think!

LukeRaith - Very nice atmosphere as all of the other tracks I've given feedback to. VERY nice clap.. Really nice reverb on it. Melody is amazing, very relaxing. Break down is very nice, not too minimal. I love the arp after the drop, not 100% on if the wobble fits it.. I'd probably go for a different kind of bass maybe? But it is very good and melodic. Great job! Beat maybe needs slightly more groove too.
