what is causing this?

Post by awfulhabitz » Wed Dec 07, 2011 11:30 pm

Hey guys, hate to post a thread for this, but i CANNOT find an answer anywhere. Started to mess with some electro tunes, and when uploaded through soundcloud i get this wierd resonance sound like off my kick or somethin. Can anyone tell what this is caused from? Take a listen for yourself. Thanks for your input!

this is part of soundcloud's compression that they use for the files. I get this on my pure sine subs and it annoys me to no end. Nothing you can do unfortunately.

What kind of format are you guys using for your audio files? Cause I used 320kps mp3 the first time I posted a tune and it sounded shite, so I reloaded the mp3 at 128kps and it sounded worlds better, still not perfect, but much better.

Yeah I'm quite certain it's from downsampling. It downsamples it to 128, so if you already export it at 128, it will not have to downsample at all.

For what it's worth, I generally upload .wav files and don't have any problems beyond the typical quality loss.
