Monitors are designed to be accurate not loud. Sure allot of them are loud but it is not worth paying the price tag for flat speakers if its just for listening. I don't know what the best sound system would be. Most of the active uses on this sub forum produce music and come one here to talk about production, not about speakers to just listen on which is why ur getting shit all responses.

Know I'm late with my reply here but I wouldn't even bothered splashing out extra cash on Monitors. They are 100 percent not necessary when it comes to mixing. Just as long as you get some clear enough speakers with good bass response your in business. There is literally no need for speakers with a flat response for mixing.TheDubEngine wrote:Hi
I've been mixing for quite a while now and producing for the last year but still to this day I havn't found the perfect combination of Speakers, Sub-woofer and Amp for connecting to a mixer (preferablely Numark X5 / DJM-800) for a bedroom/studio.
When producing I will use my Logitech z-5500 desktop system which is fine for connecting to the MAC, but when it comes to thrashing out a filthy max volume mix up I want to know whats the best set-up for the decks including Sub and Amp?!
Mixing and producing I can talk all day, as for sound/audio setup Im abit of a n00b lol, so personal and expert opinions welcome! I think the main point is what can handle the bass for a professional set-up.. Also if i've missed any basics on the topic of audio setup I welcome the advice![]()
Safeeeeeee.

Cheers for the response.. with all what has been said by both michAUS and B-FRANK I come to the next question which is slightly off this topic...
Whats the best soundcard for producing dubstep/heavy bass cultured music.. or are we all satisfied with what the macbook pro offers?

Re: What Is The Best Sound System For Dubstep and Heavy Bass
These questions about what's best for "dubstep/heavy bass music" are getting dumb. Souncards/speakers/daws/vsts aren't designed to fit a certain style of music. Buy a soundcard in your pricerange, get monitors in your pricerange, learn to use what you've got and go make some tunes. There is literally 10 thread on the past 3 pages about monitors/soundcards/headphones as well as a sticky at the top. I heard google was good too

Hmm, I'd say a Five way funktion one soundsystem.
Jk, I'd go for a pair of krk's and build your own sub.
A sub might be useful production wise, but it really really makes the whole thing more fun.
I love how my sub is like an airconditioning in the summer and I love how it freezes me to death in winter

Has an amazing frequency range, we're talking 18hz up to 25khz. Also really good if you wanna rock a party at a mates place, this will really get the neighbors wound up.
