I just got myself an MPK Mini for Xmas, just wondering, what are your lot's thought on it?

Re: MPK Mini

Re: MPK Mini
Yeah definitely great for portability. Will still be good for home use but lack of a pitch wheel may become annoying

Re: MPK Mini
Yeh.. either way the MPK mini is pretty nice, no mod pitch wheel but you do get decent stuff for your cash.benjaminC wrote:Fucking pointless.....(unless your a pianist)jrisreal wrote:whatever suits you lol...wouldn't suit me very well as I really like full 88-key

Re: MPK Mini
Ah, thanks for the opinions, I tried it out when it came to make sure it works properly and I gotta say, the key sizes aren't a problem for me, the fact that they are small doesn't matter for me, but I guess the mod/pitch might get annoying... If I can set it up so the pitch and mod are linked to the knobs, then I'd be fine

Re: MPK Mini
Honestly mate link me to a tune where youve used that many octaves at once and I promise to stop harrassing you everytime you mention it. Scouts honour !!!jrisreal wrote:Yes.benjaminC wrote:Fucking pointless.....(unless your a pianist)jrisreal wrote:whatever suits you lol...wouldn't suit me very well as I really like full 88-key
Re: MPK Mini
I don't like changing the root note to play the low notes or the high notes. Other than that, it's not often that I use all those octaves.benjaminC wrote:Honestly mate link me to a tune where youve used that many octaves at once and I promise to stop harrassing you everytime you mention it. Re: MPK Mini
Just pitch the synth down/up and youve saved hundreds of pounds.
Re: MPK Mini
still not comfortable with that, but meh, agree to disagree.benjaminC wrote:Just pitch the synth down/up and youve saved hundreds of pounds.

Re: MPK Mini
It is his choice, dont bitch about it with him.
Re: MPK Mini
He knows im playing I dont think he needs you backing him up tbh. But for the record I dont like seeing people waste their cash needlesslyjoshisrad wrote:It is his choice, dont bitch about it with him.
Re: MPK Mini
I have one. I like it but after a while I got sick of it (I bought it because I was poor not because of portability).
The tiny keys aren't very good for actually playing in real time, somewhat restrains musical inspiration.
It definitely gets the job done though! Used the knobs a lot but hardly ever used the pads.
Getting an MPK49 next week

Re: MPK Mini
Yeah its all cool guys. Don't think I'm ever buying anything under 61 key though...else it would be a downgrade from what I already have.benjaminC wrote:He knows im playing I dont think he needs you backing him up tbh.
