Feedback for others:

@dougriley: Nice drum work at the start. The track has quite a nice chilled vibe, I also like the little sample you keep dropping here and there.
@briskisgoodforu: Not really my kind of music, but from what I can hear the drums seem really muffled under the vocals, I dunno whther thats intentional. Other than that everything seems tight - everything fits together nicely.
@LukeRaith: Nice intro, the drums and synth are nice and clean. Drop was nicely unexpected. I really like this track man, the only thing is that the main bass got a little repetitive even though you did modulate the pitch every now and then.

I haven't posted a WIP in months mainly because I haven't had time to produce anyways here's something I came up with in the past hour or two, any comments would be awsm. The end is just a loop of the same 8 bars - I havent figured out what to do next :P

@The Other Drug - For me the bass line between 1:00 and 2:00 ish goes off on one a bit. The tune seemed to lack a little structure due to the length of it but perhaps that's the style you're after.

@jimbeaux - Liking the use of piano, it sits surprisingly well on top of the bassline. I'd like to use more synthesised analogue instruments myself. Good atmospheres in the first half before the basline comes to take over the show. I'm undecided on how the vocal sits in there though.

@Dub Scout - Awesome intro. I was a little disappointed when it dropped though (not personally into the big wub drops). I'd geared my brain up for more of a melodic syhthtastic track but after the drop you gave me more so I was a happy boy. :)

@MaZa1 - House Fucking Test - Sounds like you have the headspace mostly nailed. Just the vocal seemed a little lost at a couple of points, perhaps needed a bit of help with the EQ to let it breathe? Reason 5 Testing appears to be distorting at the bottom end of the spectrum for me but it's not looking like it's visibly clipping in the soundcloud so it's probably intentional.

@Biscuit - Sounds like a finished track to me almost. The frequency of the cutoff in the wobble just at the beginning of the section at 1:20 feels ever so slightly out of kilter or rhythm. It soon gets sorted out and finds the groove though, It's just the first 10 seconds or so which seem ever so slightly out of sync.

@Tiger Blood - Interesting harmonics in the bells. Makes for a bizarre melody but kind of works.

Right, Firstly let me get the excuses out of the way. My production 'career' is all of 2 weeks old, having picked up Logic Express last week (yes the same day they released Pro on the App Store *doh*). Before that I tried Garage band for a week before wanting more control so upgraded. This is the first thing I've been happy enough with to bother getting beyond the initial 8 or 16 bar experiments I've been making. It's an hours work from this evening and is built on a recording ov my cats eating their dinner and a sample of my hoover turned into a bit of a bass with some basic 2 step distorted drums and some synth notes. I know it's quite basic but I didn't want to overcrowd it. All criticism welcomed.

@Surfr : The intro sample made me smile, i love HL² / Portal :). You've got again a lot of things to learn, but keep it up. DSF is the best place to learn lot of stuff :)

@mthrfnk : Intro not to bad, maybe the white noise is a bit piercing. Bassline seems to clip, or maybe to much saturation. Your hat is too agressive to me.

@Dougriley : Pretty nice overall, i like these deep tracks. Your hats are a bit too low in the mix sadly.

@briskisgoodforu : Your mixdown looks... Hi cuted. I mean, there's not to much hi end on it. Without that, really nice track ! :)

@Jimbeaux : I use to like your stuff, and this mixdown is relly good.

Here's mine now, a clip of something i did today.

@ Surfr - cool atmosphere going on here, personally I find it does a good job of evoking a sort of "dreadful" vibe; not sure if that was the goal but maybe that's a sort of lens you could work through as the tune progresses. All in all, sweet.

@ Darj - liking this a lot, good powerful feel. A slight amount of variation here and there would go a long way, I think. But certainly nothing that would overpower and take away from the dense feel of what you already have in place. Cool stuff!

I'm mainly looking for feedback and suggestions towards the build-up of this one; I know the kick is pretty cliche and standard, but I thought the drawn-out nature of it just worked in this instance. That being said, I think some other snare/hat activity would help this section substantially - so any ideas, fire away! Any other general feedback is welcome of course

@Surfr i love that sample.
@ Darj, the strings remind me of James Bond for some reason:) The bass that comes in at 55s is great it has a ton of weight to it
@mthrfnk that awsome you could do that in an hour . Yeah, i do need help with the EQ and stuff cuz it feels like i've tried everything but still no headroom..
And nothing seems to be clipping so i think its just distortion or something.

@bodom418: Oh my lawd super catchy tune man. I wanted to get up and break out and dance....with my pants off. I really have no suggestions for your build up because to me its perfect, its simple and thats how it should be. Your baselines seems "thin" though try adding some sort of unison. Or layer a few together. AWESOME TRACK THOUGH! :Q:

@Darj: Dope track man. Try EQing out some of the bottom end of your kick. To me it sounds like its conflicted with some of your bass. I love your hats man. Catchy and groovy tune man.

@Surfr: Haha thats awesome. Id add something to it though. Instead of just all separate noise and some sort of simple underlying bassline. The track is there it just needs something to fill in that empty space you've left.

@mthrfnk: Your track is really LOUD. Id lower it a bit. The guys who says 'bang" should be lowered to fit the rest of the volume. Also, instead of going straight into that "studdery" bassline right after your drop, id start out with the same notes, maybe with a slower LFO and than have some sort of transition that makes it all studdery.

@Crewcutz: I actually REALLY like this track. It has this sort of pitching up effect. Also the sub on this track sounds insane. Your snare a has a TINY bit too much reverb. Other than that, good work.

@DougRiley: Oh man, subtle tracks like this really get me. This is too tight man. SOme sick vibes. No complaints here. Cant wait to hear more of this.

Heres a WIP of mine, I'm still working on some mix stuff, other than that the whole track is there. Leave some feedback thanks guys! :Q:

Thanks for the feedback on my previous WIP, some people mentioned it being loud/clipping which is probably due to the fact I hadn't done any proper mixing - all the channels were basically at max volume :P

Feedback for others:
@Darj: Intro is really nice, I like the strings a lot. The main bass progression is good too although it does get a bit repetitive towards the end, and the percussive variations you add are good too.
@nashley: Your soundcloud genre tag describes this perfectly :P It's trippy as fuck, although after a while the echoing/flanging seems a bit overpowered. Also the transition into the un-echoed bit with hats is too abrubt, it doesn't seem to flow well.
@antman: The sample you used is good, it fits nicely. The track seems good, although I think some extra panned hats may add some more depth.

Here's another track I started working on in the past few hours, I've only laid down the main structure really, the breakdowns and basslines need improving lots but any feedback would be awsm:

@mthrfnk Wow, I really like it. I think the bassline could use a bit more variation, but the drum hits are very clean, and I'm trying to get that kind of sound out of my drums.
@antman It's a bit old school for my taste, but I like it. Very dreamy and great vibes.
@bodom418 Dancy! Love it, that's the type of music that I strive to make. The bassline's a bit quiet, though, and I think you should raise the levels on it.\

Here's mine. It's just an intro for now.

I forgot to give some feedback on your track earlier - it's awesome :P Only a few things I'd say need fixing - in the main body it sounds as if something funky is either going on with your limiter or compressor maybe, some of the bass lines seem louder than others especially when the vocals cut in and out. As for the build up kicks, maybe add some off beat hats or alternate off beat kicks to vary it up? Btw if you don't mind me asking, where did you find such and awsm acapella of If I Die Young?

Haven't checked in in a bit,

CrewCutz - Suck Out - Good track so far. Kick should be more prominent in the mix though. It will sound better on the drops.

mthrfnk - The End - Energetic track and first drop. I think the second build up kills the momentum a little bit? Maybe extend the synth that comes in at ~ 1:50 by a few bars to create an earlier moment of anticipation for the listener. Otherwise the snare needs to be more present up front. I like the track so far!

antman - Dependency - Nice grime. Second drop NEEDS to come in on the 1st beat of the bar though. Layer the snare with another snare sample. Just something that will give it a bit more punch. You got the snap down. Also, cool down on the delay on the main wobbles. Sometimes they layer in uni over the lead and spike.

Here is my current project:

CenturySam- really awesome intro and atmosphere really sounds like an end of times tune. The percussion seems a little faint though with the exception of the snare. Interesting tune man.

Floop- intro only pieces frustrate me because I always want to hear the drop lol, it is nicely done though I'd like to see were you go with it.

mthrfnk- like floop said the drums are great, but you need to add some variation to the midrange or if you want to go skrilly you can add a melody up top.

Darj-I honestly really liked this track, great atmosphere fantastic percussion. I was wary of the wobble staying a constant speed but it worked for you. :W:

Something I've grown to really like I plan on switching out a few percussion samples mainly the the bass drum other than that I need to mix it down and call it good (I think) would like to hear what you all think. Tips on the mix would be great because atm I'm stuck with some way cheap headphones until after the holidays :(

Hi There. I'm HashKey and New to the forum and dubstep in general.
I'm more into Metal/hardcore XD.
I made a simple verse and drop, I studied quite a lot this month and I came up producing this.
Soundcloud
It doesn't really have a name, it's just something I'm working on but I wanted some of your experienced producer impression.
I'm open to any kind of criticism.
Thanks.

CenturySam, dope tune, loving the atmosphere of it, but again, the snare is overpowering in comparison to the rest of the drums and add a couple pads to fill things out? Otherwise sounds sick

Iorek, sounds good, but could use some more subs and pads to fill it out a bit otherwise it's sickk

Hashkey - As a man of metal myself, it sounds pretty dope, dunno what to fault really other than maybe making the vocals slightly louder, some of the frequencies are clashing in places and might need tidying up a tad and maybe making some of the percussion fuller... Otherwise sounds sickk

Now for me ^^ I'm a new producer, been producing less than a month, before which I didn't even listen to EDM, now I produce it ahaha! Would love it if you could give feedback / comments on the following, and take into account my VERY limited experience ahaha, let me know how I've progressed

I have a nearly full song and the kind of first parts of a song below, which would be awesome if you could check out, thanks :D

Nearly complete song:

Thanks for the feedback again :)

Feedback for others:
@Floop: Man your intro piano is awsm, but I'd say your kick needs work - it needs to be punchier imo. Yourbuild to the drop is great too - I'd love to hear the actual drop :P
@CenturySam: Your initial intro is really good, has a nice dark tone. The drop is heavy, but at around 1:20 things start to get a little too crazy. The only thing I would suggest would be to maybe mix up the bass with another complimentary bass and switch between the two to give more variation on the main synth.
@Iorek: Your intro sounded like a retro Nintendo sound track, and that's not a bad thing :P. As for your mix, to me the kick needs bringing out more and balancing with the bass, maybe compress your snare slightly more and widen/pan out your hats?

Again I've got a new WIP I started today, I wanted to make a house tune but the riff sounded nicer with dubstep drums behind it :( Anyways feedback would be great :)

Remember to give feedback to at least 3 others tracks !

@mthrfnk : I really love your intro, this metal key is awesome. Your drop needs a short break to make it bigger. Your 1st synth is too distorted to me, and some notes looks out of the key. This track has good potential, but i think something more chilled would be fine :)

@Scarletcyanide : Thats pretty messy ! You need more eqing. Just a question : Where is your snare ? :p

@Iorek : I'm surprised by your track. Some good things on it : Main bass is nice, i like your hats and this " sax ". Maybe more reverb on your snare, and some hi ends on it too. Very nice track indeed.

@CenturySam : One thing : Your snare is really too loud ! It hurts my ears. Mixdown needs more work !

Here's another clip from me. Did that in 4 hours
