'I Like The Music Skrillex Makes': an Interview with Skream
Little self-plug, sorry guys. I think there's a woeful shortage of big in-depth interviews with Skream at the moment though, so fill yer boots. Views on fame/haters/Skrillex etc.

Re: 'I Like The Music Skrillex Makes': an Interview with Skr
Skream just has to not care what people think about him and just do him. I'm pretty sure he wants to break boundaries and do stuff like "Anticipate" because it really is catchy and good for nowadays stuff. If he made a whole album like that/broke his old boundaries then he would be making good ass tunes for nowadays EDM listeners.
But of course he would be considered a "sell-out" blah blah blah. Idgaf and neither should he or anyone else. Music is music. If it's good then listen too it. If it isn't then don't Like he said about it in his interview. Quit bitchin'.

Honestly getting sick of reading Press/interviews about these sorts of things, i'm not against discussing it, but man, there is so much other things to write about.
thought it was questionable when they said this was his most successful year, i mean, on a lot of levels, hell yeah this is the most successful, but i mean, considering they label him an originator of dubstep, you'd think that ongoing success as the genre grows would outweigh a year of success to a more commercial/successful market.
I have nothing wrong with skream, i like the majority of his more dance influenced stuff, i loved anticipate, but that's because i listen to more music outside of dubstep, and although it might not be the biggest dubstep tune, it absolutely murders the majority of the stuff that get's played on the radio, that is considered dance music, that's the perspective i view it from.
Big ups Skream.

I think you have to take the good with the bad. Skream has got alot of heavy tunes (the guy that got me into dubstep) but he has also got some bad tunes i think he is abit harsh when taking about forums and the internet. i know on this forum at least the people are honest to stay if a skream tune is good or crap.
And fair play to him about the cher lloyd thing i think most of us would have taken the money and run
. saying that his tunes with example aint much better.

Also, maybe I'm the only one but I think it could be interesting to see what Skream comes up with in 2012 as he said he was going to be trying a new sound. Here's where he releases Handlobster.

I'm guessing this is an interview you have conducted?
Im guessing this was being ironic?
Im guessing that from this interview you used the quote that would cause the most debate to put as your subject??
Biggups Skream anyways.

I also found the thread title to be quite misleading. he wasn't saying he likes the music that guy makes, he said he was nominated for 5 grammys so he must be doing something right, although I would have to disagree, I would say that means your doing EVERYTHING WRONG.

No, I think most of the press he does these days is pretty shallow, comes with the more mainstream territory.LA_Boxers wrote: Im guessing this was being ironic?

Other than that, I'm not touching this one. He should do what he feels like. And we should be allowed to LIKE OR DISLIKE it as well.

Don't get it, sure he can do what he wants but we can't say if we like it or we don't like it? LOL
He likes skrillex, now who the fuck cares what he likes, if he puts up a list I will check what I haven't heard yet but hey good for him that he likes something I don't like /care.
What does bother me is;" I fully support vinyl and vinyl buyers, that’s why I still release vinyl. That’s not just me throwing in something to keep hipsters happy. I worked in a record shop, I hate the fact that record shops are going one by one, it’s a sad fact. Because the social interaction between you and the shop, it was amazing.
That’s why you get so many rude little pricks on the internet now. Like, ‘Give me this tune!’, ‘Play my tune!’ The social interaction, you don’t get it on forums because they’re faceless. When you went into a record shop you had to be humble and polite to even last in there. If you came into Big Apple being rude or anything, you would get Mugged. Off. Seriously, you’d get sold the shittest records. That’s what I hate most that’s gone. And it is completely gone. And quality bars have dropped, because to get your record in a shop you had to get it signed, all that. Now you can make an EP at home and put it out."
"It’s like, if a kid doesn’t know all their history, some geek on a forum will be like, ‘You’re not true to the sound.’ But why do they need to care about it? It’s a bit like someone just turning 17 or 18 now and going out to their first techno night, and someone going, ‘Oh what, you don’t know who Jeff Mills is?’ You kind of just know it or you don’t."
I just hope for an class set in Belgium but Ill think Ill have to switch rooms @ untitled
but I guess by saying this I'm an other forum moaner hahahaha
