That's lame. regardless of any meaning I love spending chrismas eve with my mates down local pub (just got back, one of my favourite times to hang out, shame it finishes early and I end up pon t'internet.) catching up and christmas day with the family. Just good vibes really

It's for the little kids imo.
I didn't even go to family dinner haha. In another city and it's too far.

I stopped doing the xmas thing long ago, I don't do birthdays either. I can barely remember when mine is lol oops. It all just seems like some forced social obligation that people just do out of habit.

Haha no, just lack of interest I suppose.
It felt awkward since I was a little kid every time my parents threw me bday parties.

Bought 4 gifts this year, record for me. Got a wallet from my ex-housemate, just as well I decided last minute not to give him a wallet as well!

I find I quite like buying random presents!

My family are just a bunch of pricks/religious nuts. They don't like me, and I don't enjoy their company either. I call my grandparents and tell them happy holidays. It was only fun when I was a kid, and my mom was still around.

I guess it just depends on how well you and your family get along?

We all get along great. My parents are like a couple of friends now that I'm an adult. Just different interests and beliefs I guess. Only like 1 person I can think of in my whole family is really religious, otherwise they do the xmas thing out of habit and for the kids, but there's only a couple of kids under 13 now. The teenagers are over the whole santa bit of course. I'm sure I would have went to have some drinks with them if I was in the same city.

I don't like sweets though, so birthday parties I don't care much for. Instead of cake when I was a kid, they would put candles in a pizza haha. I do go to my little cousins parties when I can of course, but I'm not always in the same cities.

See my day today consisted of hanging out with relatives who I don't get to see too often with them talking about all sorts of shit that happened in the past and eating and drinking together. It's just a really nice day and I genuinely do like hearing all the old family classic memories.

Today I learned that my uncle is mates with the guy who built the mungo's hi fi rig at outlook, my mum got my grandad really stoned once and my great grandad used to get up to all sorts of drunken antics.

i buy a gift for everyone in the immediate family and a good friend (not before asking if we'll be exchanging gifts). i only ask for my mom not to buy me anything because when i was a kid, she'd go real hard and have a shit ton of gifts for me on christmas, so i try to return the favor now that i'm an adult and buy some sweet shit for her =)
