Sonika, im not dutch and im lived here for many years and ive probably dealt with a lot of things you will be dealing with so feel free to ask me any questions you might have. id be happy to help.

Okay thank you, I may just do that.

I'm interested in a more old school dubstep scene, less so of a hard hitting agressive dubstep, tho I don't mind a bit o that :D
DJ Gomes regularly throws the Oi ! parties at the Paradiso, there's some brostep in there sometimes but he does book guys like Youngsta and Coki regularly

Overview of some nights in Amsterdam:

Sonic Warfare
bass music with a broad perspective (label nights from the ones like Hessle Audio, Hemlock, R&S, Hotflush, Swamp81)
in Melkweg Amsterdam
https://www.facebook.com/SonicWarfare.Amsterdam

Colors
funky / garage / house night (Night Slugs, Numbers, Hyperdub nights)
venue: Trouw Amsterdam
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Colors-A ... 6549947003

Radical
pure bass and dubstep
venue: OT301 Amsterdam or Patronaat Haarlem
https://www.facebook.com/soundsradical

Oi!
the harder view on dubstep (Wheel & Deal, Dub Police and so on)
venue: Paradiso Amsterdam
https://www.facebook.com/OIRECORDINGS

MOSH
little brother event from Oi, the name says it all, hard dubstep / filth
https://www.facebook.com/pages/MOSH/199921253373612

CABLE
every thursday 'student' clubnight with dubstep / garage / electro / hip hop
venue: Melkweg Amsterdam
https://www.facebook.com/CABLE.AMSTERDAM

50 Hurtz
hard dubstep
venue: Melkweg Amsterdam
https://www.facebook.com/events/267445823291408/

This is just a quick overview from the most populair nights. There're also some great smaller party's from the ones like Audio Culture, Boston Strip, Nightwork, Boycott, Viral Radio, look them up via google or facebook.

Between 15-19 dec some suggestions are:

thu 15 dec: CABLE (ft. Gomes (Oi), Brutuzz (Oi / Sonic Boom), Presk (Audio Culture / Ten Thousand Yen) at Melkweg [dubstep/grime/garage]
fri 16 dec: Nightwork (ft. Sandrien (imprint) DJ+ (Sonic Warfare)) at Club Up [techno/bass]
fri 16 dec: Awesome By Default (ft. Redinho (NMBRS) / Eats Everything (Dirty Bird)) at Chicago Social Club [house/bass/garage]
fri 16 dec: 50 Hurtz (ft. Cookie Monsta / Trolley Snatcha) at Melkweg [hard dubstep]
fri 16 dec: DUB explorations (ft. Foster / Awanto3 (Rushhour)) at OT301 [bass/footwork/juke]
sat 17 dec: Radical (ft. Distance (Chestplate)/Myrkur ao) at Patronaat HAARLEM [dubstep]

I think that's quite a lot for every genre within dubstep :) Not sure what ur personal taste is, but there must be something you'd like.

A mate and I will be visiting Amsterdam for my 21st, sometime in February/march.

Just wondering if anyone knows of any big nights happening around then? Just after a sub heavy bass night.

Dont wanna book flights for one weekend and find out Mala is dropping serious weight the next...

No Bro.

in order of my preference:

distortion records- westerstraat
rush hour records - spuistraat
concerto records - utrechtsestraat

killa cutz (nieuwe nieuwestraat i think, just near rush hour on the other side of nieuwezidjs voorburgwal) is closed and repalced by a bike shop, but in the basment they have piles of old vinyl. not much dubstep that i saw but lots of old house techno dnb in varying condition, if you just go in the bike shop and ask to see the vinyl in the basment they'll let you browse.

theres a few other vinyl shops in town but they dont really carry dance music in general.

feel free to pm me if you want any other advice about amsterdam. be it about music or whatever.
thank you for all the info sir :Q: Very appreciated

Cheers! This is awesome. Yeah I can definitely feel a lotta the stuff Dub Police puts out, so oi sounds good. A lot of these other ones too.

Unfortunately, I'm 13. Do you know which of these allows people my age?

Earlier in the thread there were at least two listed that are all ages. So there can't be none

the night may be for all ages, but the club still won't let you in unless you're 16/18/21 or older. so a night for all ages would actually be a 16+ event

Basically no, you can always try to get in though. But they don't want people under 16 in bars and clubs.

Nothing wrong with getting in on it young though.

Anything happening between Feb 4 & Feb 15 ??
Interested in deep/dark/tribal 140, but also Dub, Jungle & reggae recommendations would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks, will definitely check Colors @ Trouw. Haven't had the oportunity to check Cinnaman before. Interesting he's spinning all night. Not many DJs do that anymore :Q:
unfortunately I'm traveling on the 15th so I'll miss Perry & Mad Professor and can't make it to Utrecht as I arrive late on the 4th : (
I'll be spending more time in Amsterdam after March though, so I'll keep checking this thread, much appreciated thanks
