definitely want to get on this year's festival after missing out on 2011.
kinda worried about these stories of rape, and by security guards doesn't make me feel any better (as a girl),
also, is the campsite really that bad, like worse than in uk festivals?

Outlook sent out an email saying that they will be bringing in all UK security for the festival this year (think they had a lot of problems with the croatian security in previous years). So hope they aren't all stone cold like the outlook security have been.
And I must say, where do these kids come from that just throw their litter fucking everywhere? Our camp was fine and we tidied up every day but then walking through the camp grounds some peoples camps just looked like rubbish tips, add to the fact that they just left all that mess when they left Outlook and it is utterly disgusting.
But what was even worse for me was seeing these stnuc doing this on the beach.. I mean at your own campsite is one thing but just chucking empty bottles into the ocean and littering the beach with nos cannisters is just cutting off your nose despite your face.

have people seen this new dimensions festival they're adding on, what sort of music you reckon it's gonna be?

also the 2012 launch party looks just ridiculous. can't wait to be back in croatia!

It'll have some music similar to outlook but then much more varied.

The preview video of 2011 has already made me (even more) hyped for next year :)

The Moat's soundsystem this year was brilliant - Hope they keep the numbers the same, if not lower for 2012 though....

yep...my post even hints to you that I do the same thing as you, although i have a couple friends that are glad to come after taking them to dmz..but yeah, usually a solo ting, fwd's anniversary i was :i: without a care in the world i was by myself...but you really can't do that with festivals. Unless someone here has a good story to tell stating otherwise? :)
Man, are you kidding? I travelled from Canada to Outlook completely on my own; I'd made 6 friends by the time I was off the plane in Venice, 10 more by the time we were off the shuttle bus at the site (most of which had come in groups of one or two, and we all camped together), got close with all our neighbours, and by the end of the week we were a regular crew of 30 strong, with a bunch of other people we'd run into all over the place. They were like a mini-family the whole time I was there. I still keep in touch with them. I had the best time imaginable. I've honestly never been in an environment where absolutely everyone is so friendly, approachable, and not only willing but excited to chat, hang out and be super welcoming. It was great. I'm making the trip this year again with one friend because it was the best experience I've ever had travelling.

As for camping vs. apartment. I have no idea what the apartments are like, or how far they are, but I know I wouldn't have had nearly the same experience if I was up in an apartment. Yea, the campsites got dirty as all hell and the bathrooms were absolutely awful, but it was part of the experience. I wouldn't really trade living right in the festival atmosphere for anything. It was a party all the time, and waking up and stumbling 30 feet into the ocean made it all worth while. Plus, the night time parties at the campsite before the festival started were some of the best nights that whole week.

Think I'm going this year - really keen to hit sun and bass straight after too

Defo hitting the apartments, the camping ground was absolutely feral this year. Never been so disgusted with humanity in my life, trash everywhere ESP along the beach -but wasn't any trash cans anyway.

Caught some bitches 'marking their territory' outside our tents and someone shat under our hamock - WTF! At least go in he bushes

This NEEDS to be stressed to newbies. Fuck, the treks between arenas and campsites is ridiculous. I had a nightmare with it (ligament damage)... fucking sucked BIG TIME.

yep i'd just say bring cool clothes (both senses of the word), good shoes, maybe even boots, something to cover your face, avoid security, and drink lots and lots of watta

someone stole my shoes on the first night (fell asleep outside the fort and vaguely remember waking up to someone taking one of my shoes off, but dont really remember :? ) so had to wear the wet suit shoes the whole festival. was picking stones out my feet for weeks after!

i went 2010 and 2011 and 2010 was so much better in my opinion...so much litter and dickheads this year..and i also had a few arguements with my girlfriend which kinda ruined the vibe for me...debating whether to go a third year in a row, and for newcomers my advice is get an apartment its way better..i havent camped at outlook but ive witnessed what its like and my mates have camped n it aint pretty! it think there was too many people there this year...

Man, I'd be pissed!
Not got myself to an outlook yet, thinking about this year. By the sounds of it, what used to be a friendly family atmosphere has now changed, shame...just hope next years isn't full of dickheads

nah mate i wouldnt say that at all. i didnt go in 2010 so i cant really say but i didnt encounter any proper dickheads the whole time i was there and it was all peace n love and good times.

i mean obviously there will be some trouble and bellends there to start it but thats the same with every festival. it's still the best event ive been to ever! in summary just go, you'll have a sick time. and whoever said about the moat :o best area in my opinion by far
