not sure thats universally true... i for one am very excited for this even though i like his vocal material as well... i just get excited for new james blake material full stop

Probably just a personal thing. It'll probably grow on me after a while, most of his stuff does.

What I mean is that when I listen to stuff like this

Or this

Then listen to this EP, it just doesn't blow my mind in the same way if you get what I mean?
I guess it's a case of familiarity, once I've repeated it a few times, I'll probably have my head around it.

i believe love what happened here has the same vibe as his earlier ep's but because everyone's heard it a million times because of the outkast harmonimix, its lost a bit of its sparkle. 'curbside' though, thats a riddim, i don't care what anyone says, but i guess I have a different taste to most people because i was praying for him to release 'order'. I don't have any time for 'at birth' though, never liked it from the first time I heard it.

i'm more hoping he starts releasing harmonimixes, i need that rollin' with the punches 12" in my life

When I talk about vibe, I don't mean sound. I mean that from a musical point of view, he's been pretty cold lately for me. It doesn't move your mind anymore

All three tracks are great, but Curbside does it for me. HUGE track.

what I was saying was at the time order was unreleased, i was praying for him to release...and it didn't seem like many people liked it

At Birth is the one for me, the distant samples remind me a lot of Blimey or even afx's Tha. Definitely influence from Actress on that one as well.
If this is the future, it seems highly livable: shiny, cool and comfortably dissonant. Like a low dose of ketamine in an empty, luminous airport hall in northern Japan, eating avocado and waiting for the universe to arrive.
