i love dubplate culture, just a shame my exposure is limited to re-watchings or downloads of radio shows, so the vibe isn't quite the same, damn being born in australia

Clue us in a bit don, you've been silent for too long. :Q:
I fucking agree. This is one thing I really hate about the bass music scene. Is the whole hush hush, exclusive, pretentious, my tunes are too good for you peons to have, bullshit. If you're never going to give people the ability to listen to your tunes (obviously in exchange for purchasing a release) then I feel that you just shouldn't fucking play them at all. It's because of this very reason that I refuse to listen to mixes, radio shows, anything like that. I hate hearing some of the most beautiful tunes go to waste.

I mean I really fucked up when I stumbled over Cluekid - Dolphin on youtube. I swear I'll just fucking die if that doesn't get a release. :6:

You act like the most self-entitled tnuc rofl. You've been on these forums for like 2 months and you are talking like you know jack? You want to hear the tunes, go to see the artists that will play them. Otherwise stfu..

Seriously acting like the artists made these songs for you? They don't belong to anyone but the person who made them, it is up to them what they want to do with it.

You are only parring yourself by refusing to listen to mixes + radio shows, have fun with your youtube singles bud.

i always watch the uploads of getdarker and do as much as i can to hear the other stuff, really appreciative of the effort some of the people in this scene go to, to get the genre heard!
not long ago i managed to catch a very drunk mensah on ustream for 3-4 hours, was so good, problem is due to timezone, anything live i'm normally at work for haha, but i have my sources like get darker etc which as i said before, so so thankful by the effort everyone involved goes too!

That's not really the problem for me though, I can go without hearing radio mixes. Its more that in the UK they have the option of seeing ridiculous lineups like every other week (the Deep Medi xmas party lineup made me want to cry), whereas here we're lucky if we get one of the names on those lineups every 6 months

I don't want to see this leave the front page.

I understand the argument of keeping the tunes special by only playing them at certain times. Unfortunately, I got into the scene far after these tracks were created and played out. And now that I'm in, I can't really see many artists in my neck of the woods anyways. I am going to try to lock into more radio shows though.

That being said, Loefah's halfstep sound has been my favorite for a long time. More than it just being my favorite, it's a sound that really hasn't been emulated much. It's not like I can put on a different artist and hear a similar sound (if I'm wrong somebody please correct me.) That's why these releases would be dope.

Also, I haven't heard of quite a few of these tracks that y'all mentioned, so thanks!

fair enough man. youngsta said he's coming out this year (finally!) Mala and Goth-trad both hinted at coming back seperately. we might get lucky!

So you're telling me Youngsta can play Midnight out on big systems regularly but there's something out of Loefah's control stopping it from being released?

Sure, but with Loefah, especially these dubs, anyone would be willing to release this because they're so sought after. The reason Loe doesn't release a lot of these dubs is because he hates them. We're lucky we got to see Disco Rekah get a release. I also heard he's lost a lot of the files for these.

EDIT: Aaaaaand you edited your post and now I look like an idiot

slightly out of context there!
Also, kind of off topic here, but it seems weird to me that some of the people who love Midnight don't seem to rate 28g as one of the top Loefah bits. IMO it's probably the most stylistically similar track (even if Skream was involved, this sounds far more Loefah).
