you could have called this thread, " Some american dubstep artists you should check out", but you didn't. Your thread title suggests that there's this anti-american attitude towards american artists. in effect you've made this a self-defense thread. music doesn't need defending, no matter where its from.....hiat wrote:Nope - sorry not a bait thread at all.
so rather than try and defend your vision of how the UK views American dubstep, how about showing them in your creativity what you mean? there's easily about 15-20 producers from america, that let their music do the talking, and have had massive love in europe based on their music, and not some internet hype, or regional marketing flex.hiat wrote:So no - I don't have a hard on for America's dubstep scene but it would be great to hear something positive about the talent that America has to offer other than "Oh, America can suck my balls because Skrillex ruined Dubstep and that's the only thing they had to offer". Fuck that.
there are idiots everywhere, and dubstep is probably the most competitive dance genre on the planet right now. its a global genre. think globally, because otherwise you'll get painted as a victim.
this is Starkey from philly, playing at one of the biggest Festivals in the UK. He got there by letting his production speak for itself, not from defending his entire continent.
