Comparing myself to other artists is what I do all the time, always find people who are worse or much better than I am, sometimes it can get me down but other times it actually motivates me to become a better producer.

Don't be closed minded now, when I was younger and into some heavier drum and bass I remember showing my nan current value and she was digging it.

Number 1. is wrong, I compare myself to other artists all the time. It pushes me to produce better. It's analysis and I don't apologise for that. ;)
