Can't believe Bacon Dubs somehow snuck into the best new label category! Really chuffed about that and just happy to be there really. Overall the nominations are very good IMO, it doesn't seem to be missing much for me. Big categories

The dungeon sound is great in it's own, but I feel it isn't new neither original. Youngsta perfected the DJing of it in Dubstep Allstars 2 and Kryptic Minds still has the best tracks on their first album. That said, this is DSF so it's obvious those sounds are going to dominate.

I've never seen anyone call Skream, Mala, Loefah or D1 dungeon. Dungeon is definitely distinct from the early halfstep sound. Especially stuff like Ancient Memories and Midnight Request Line on that mix. Dungeon came around with early Kryptic Minds tracks and I think SP:MC's 'Trust Nobody' was possibly even earlier. So not until late 2007/early 2008.

The styles are very similar. Both are sparse and halfstep. The only real difference is that dungeon sound is more cinematic, have more polished production and have a shit load of reverb. I get what your saying but they're quite the same for me.
This isn't even relevant. My point was that I feel the sound has already been done, and Kryptic Minds still have the best tracks on their debut which ironically is the first tunes in the sound. That if anything should say something about originality and if the newer artists in the sound are pushing the limits or just mimicking or trying to perfect something that's already very good. Still, I love some of the producers work and the tunes work very good in dj sets when you want to slow down for a bit.
Time to talk about something else. Don't want to turn this into a debate over different styles.
