rice and peas over here doesn't mean the rice has peas in it, its usually Kidney Beans or 'red' beans
in fact i dont think i've ever had rice and peas from a takeaway/stall where i've been given any real 'peas' in it... maybe once or twice when jamaican friends have passed on rice etc.

chinese fried rice sometimes has peas in it, but there's about a million different ways of making it, yeung chow defo does
