Heavy Basses? Which VSTi?

Post by side » Fri Mar 17, 2006 9:04 am

I would like to know, which VSTi do you use for producing huge basses. I have experience with V-Station and MiniMoog, but aren't there any more massive bass producing synths?

anything from the fruity loops 3xosc to the virus keyboard thing can produce heavy bass

afterall, most synths are capable of producing a sine wave

2nd that. There isn't a right tool, programming skill is essential. Stick to anything you feel comfortable with.

of course programming/synthesis skils are what important..

but if u want 2 get technical, ull find vst's are very different.. sub bass varies alot between different software.. for example. the bass from Z3ta is wimpy! and the bass from minimoog v is PHAT..

perhaps, but then just run the bass from z3ta through plugins or send it to filters etc

it's been said many times that to a certain extent, it's not what you use, it's how you use it

running z3ta thru a 1billion pound magic box is not going 2 improve its low frequencys..

z3ta is an amazing synth.. but like i said its well known 2 have weak low frequencys..

the low frequencys in other software are much fuller, warmer etc..

like the classic analogue synth the ROLAND SH-101

sub bass that really hurts!!

im not saying if u have xxx(un-named) tool ull be sik! im saying the performance of some synths is better than others!!

I think that i had some kind of VST emulation of this old baby, but the sound was not satisfying....I prefer V-Station for sine subbasses a I was
suprised by FreeAlpha (according to the price :)

anything that makes a sine wave is ok...if it has lfo's and oscillators ur cooking !!!all this talk about vst's and expensive racks is boring ..how can Benga make groundbrealking tunes on old versions of fruity alone and u cant make a tune with sx3 and vst's.I use reason 3 alone ..and have no problems at all.
altthough i do know Albino is the vst ur after ..Virus will also give u a hard on.
safe

All my software is legit. don't make assumptions. I wouldn't pirate music from artists I respect, why pirate software from companies I respect?

If you keep pirating Software, they'll quit making and improving upon it--then you'll have to go to hardware and half of you DAW lot are gonna be real fucked... how are you gonna produce once you don't have a computer doing it all for you?

but yea, there was no reason for that guy to get all miffed at you and start screaming and whatnot.

Reason 3 is shit, and I know this because I own it. :D
